Significantly cheaper and frankly not much worse than Cousins... Not a bad move. Was hoping they'd shell out the big bucks for Cousins and cut Josh because of that so we could get him back this year. Smith is a step down from Cousins....but he is cheaper than 25 million plus they would have had to pay Cousins.

I’m eager to see what cousins is going to get paid if it’s 25 plus than this is a good trade if not than I don’t see why this trade was made, cousins is underrated imo

Is he a upgrade over cousins? He makes around 6-7 million less than Matthew Stafford which I think is what cousins wanted. Do you pay the extra money? Or get a rental that doesn’t really upgrade you at all. 

Charley (ugly as sin) Casserly just said on NFLN that Smith is not an upgrade over Cousins but he's much cheaper and he likes the deal for the skins.

Any other year I’d agree but this year the qb market is plentiful of options, all 3 of minny’s Qb, cousins, etc

To clarify, this is an agreement only, and as such can be backed out of or nullified.  Actual trading can't be done right now.

Pretty unusual to hear of stuff like that before free agency actually starts.  Most teams keep these things quiet.

Makes me wonder if someone's trying to drum up interest (like the Skins looking for a buyer for Cousins).
