I guess it's also a big negative to any extreme sport. Whatever, lets continue the pussification of this country.

yeah, it's horrible parents not wanting their kids to go through years of pain and surgeries, probably until they die, for a few million that will go to doctors and insurance companies... anyways.

Not sure if this was already posted, didn’t see it anywhere.

Apparently JT is among the many parents who will be steering their children away from football. He stated it pretty clearly at a presser... wonder if Goodell wishes they were paying someone else to perform at HThttp://abcnews.go.com/Sports/justin-timberlake-son-play-football/story?id=52773767

JT is a short white guy. I dont think the NFL will miss him or his offspring.

Kids making their own decisions about their health at that age lol. Some of y'all are something else.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Maybe we should let fourth and fifth graders eat whatever they want as well, regardless of how it effects their future health.

Boxing?

Wrestling?

MMA?

Auto racing?

Baseball, field hockey, softball, soccer, tennis, cross country, track, volleyball, swimming, diving, gymnastics, weightlifting... the list goes on. This doesn’t discount the chance of injury in any sport/game, however, they are siginificantly lower than football.

Any lifetime sports activities are great for kids and adults of all ages without the injuries that come with a sport as physical and grueling as football. Football is a violent sport and no singular rule is going to change that.

At that age, it is only their choice if the parents decide to give them that choice.

I think he meant its their dreams. I mean you could be a Debbie downer like every other parent and say no. Then he'll see all these guys on TV and say why did I listen? What if Arnold Schwarzenegger or Ric Flair listened to their parents? Do you think they would have had success? If I'm ever a Parent I'm gonna do my best to see that my child is living towards his or her dreams every day. If they have any trace of doubt during the journey, I'll do my best to make sure they're out of it.

It's still their choice. Don't hold them back from their dreams. I would've been pissed at my parents if they never let me played. I had been wanting to since I was in first grade. Team sports is great at building character anyway and a way to learn to cooperate well with others. Not to mention the exercise. There's still a lot more good to come from football.

There’s no reason that until varsity football kids can’t play flag and learn the fundamentals of the game. Ten  year olds don’t need to be viciously hitting each other in the head.
