I actually like the "one guy with enough cash to buy it all" idea better than an ownership group.

The whole "not rewarding underachievers" thing would probably scare a lot of people currently within the Panthers.

I may not agree with everything in his talk, but I'm immensely impressed that he is the sort of person to give enough of a crap to be emotionally, intellectually and economically invested in a topic like that. Would be a great representative for the team and the region.

I don't put a whole lot of confidence in online "net worth" figures, but everything I'm seeing on this guys says he doesn't have anywhere close to the wealth it would require to be a majority owner, much less a sole owner.

Rodrigue describes him as "the first known bidder with the financial wherewithal to buy the team outright."

For that to be true, it would mean he'd have to be able to write a check for 2.5 billion and not have it drain his resources.

Basically, he makes more money than us.
