That didn't really make a lot of sense to me until someone pointed out that a smartphone allows you to take Facebook, Twitter, the internet and whatever else you're on with you wherever you go.

All the things you mention may have an effect, but they're peripheral.  The root of the problem is the family.

So often no mother.

WAY more often no father.

In some cases, neither.

In many other cases, parents that are in the childs life but are wastes of human flesh who should never have been allowed to breed.

Therein lies the crux of the problems that you mention.

(P.S. This is in NO WAY a criticism of the many well-adjusted people who were raised by single parents or no parents or were raised by horrible (many times evil) parents.)

(P.S.S. My son, who I consider a very well-adjusted and kind young man (college graduate and military officer), was raised by a single parent.)

(P.S.S. That single parent was me.)

2. Sometimes the sane person trapped inside the mind of the mentally disturbed person performs an outward act hoping to get noticed.  Its a scream for help.  Lets hope he gets some.

This is the way I have always thought of Martin. It's obvious that he has had to endure too much for too long.

He needs help.  He asked for it when he revealed the bullying on the Dolphins line.  Why didn't he get it then?  Does he have to shoot up a school to get that help?  Is our system so inadequate?

What kind of idiot posts conspiracy to commit murder on social media?

Unfortunately, a lot of people nowadays feels it's alright to not only communicate a threat (beyond stupid in the first place), but do it via social media.

Of course, we are talking about a very unstable person in this incident.

If he really wanted to kill people he would load the weapon and just go do it. This is a cry for help. Its also an effort to terrorize those that terrorized him.

He wouldn't have posted on social media if he wanted to successfully murder anyone. He's deranged and he needs help and he knows it.

Seems like this latest Florida shooter told everyone who would listen that he was planning on shooting the joint up. He was reported to the school and even the FBI. The cops had been called to his residence twenty some times.

There were glaring red flags about virtually all of these mass shooters that were either overlooked or ignored. At the end of the day, most people get stuck in the "it won't happen here" mentality.

The football group gave me and my friends hell for months in high shool and i finally snapped and told the lead goon i was going to knock him out.  So in high school fashion we met after school and well.....i got my ass kicked.  In the end it worked out because of the respect i gained throughout my class.  I was actually in a weird way proud of myself...until i got older and looked back at all the kids that were picked on day in and day out while i just turned a blind eye.  Some people need help and cant get through certain things like i did. I still regret that in a round about way i was part of the problem by not putting a hand out for those guys.

I feel for martin.
