Would You Be Okay With Starting CAP?

He should have got his carries last season. That’s Rivera’s fault. It would be risky to let him be the #2 with CMC at this point. Not a big enough sample size. I do like him a lot though.

Backs get hurt all the time so I still think we need a mid round RB.

Stop saying CAP couldn't do this and that, come on, it's SHULA.    He ran hard when he was given the chance, and in a small amount of playing time last year he looks good to me.    Norv may see something there.    I think he's in the mix, but I still think we draft a RB as well.

I'm sorry but CMC isn't an every down back and if they try to make him then yeah we should probably trade up for a back this season b/c he'll be here two more years before dying. He's too small.

He is the same size as Ladanian Tomlinson.

CAP would be perfect, frankly.  RR's loyalty to Stewart was obvious.  CAP only had 19 carries in 2017, but he averaged 5.3 yards per carry--nearly 2 yards per carry more than Stew.

We have CMC and CAP and Whittaker.  Draft a late rounder to compete with Whittaker since CMC can do all he does--and Samuel.

Nick Chubb would be better but CAP is a solid backup as #3

Sure he would, but we have many needs and limited funds and picks.  CAP and CMC is not a bad combo.

Instead of drafting Chubb, for example, imagine we drafted a CB or S instead.  A rotational DT or a #2 TE... We have NOTHING at these positions.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
