2016 draft now one of our worst drafts ever

1st - Vernon Butler (Jury is out, but has done very little)
2nd - James Bradberry (Regressed last year)
3rd - Worley (Wasn't good and now is gone)
5th - Zack Sanchez (Practice squad player, doesn't look like he's doing much)
7th - Beau Sandland (Never played a snap)

Very possible Bradberry and Vern turn out to be great players even as soon as this year. Too early to say about this draft class and Worley had and still has potential too. Hurney trading him away doesn’t change that. Wait until we have a large enough sample size before making dumb claims.

OP was just dying to post this poo

Do you have anything to indicate otherwise? I want to like Bradberry but he played like poo last year. Worley was even worse, and Sanchez and Sandland did nothing. We still have no clue if Butler is any good.

This draft isn't looking good.

This guy was just waiting to bash Gettleman and praise Hurney. Not worse than hurneys infamous 2011 draft. Let's also remember it's kind of hard to screw up the number 1 overall pick. Hurney was also drafting at the beginning of rounds opposed to end like Gettleman.

1. Cam

3. Terrell McClain

3. Sione Fua

4. Brandon Hogan

5. Kealhoa Pilares

6. Lawrence Wilson

6. Zachary Williams

7. Lee Ziemba

the clown didn't even draft his franchise QB one weapon. But wait it gets worse. How about 2009?

2. Everette Brown-traded a future 1st

2. Sherrod Martin

3. Corvey Irvin

4. Mike Goodson

4. Tony Fiammetta

5. Duke Robinson

7. Captain Munnerlyn

keep pushing your agenda man, but just know you're wrong.

The fact Hurney had bad drafts obviously means you can never criticize Gettleman for bad drafts? Interesting "logic".

You really shouldnt judge draft classes this early. Wait about 5 years (for all the players to get through their rookie contracts) and THEN evaluate it.

Using that criteria, its 2018 so the last class we can evaluate well is 2013.

2013 draft:

  • Star : HIT
  • Short : HIT
  • Kugbila: Miss
  • AJ Klein : HIT
  • Kenjon Barner: Miss

3/5 good players , although likely only 1 left on our roster in 2018 in Short. Klein is still balling on the Saints, and  Star is going to get massively paid by someone.

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
