So rookie Worley is basically on par with big contract Breeland who has had years to develop.

Its pretty confusing being a panther fan in the offseason.

before everyone bows down to this move... remember the division we are in.. the path to the playoffs = covering Mike Evans, Sanu, Michael Thomas, Julio Jones.

It will be fine...

Friends of mine that are Skins fans said reports out of their camp was that he was seeking $10M per year when they tried to resign him. So potentially could have been worse

I heard he was going to go after $10 M as well.  Did not think he'd bring it--however, you pay retail at this point in free agency.

I like this move and the addition of Torrey Smith. Still need to see the cap hit, but 8 milli a year for Breeland is good. 5 for Torrey, when other receivers out here are getting PAID, is good as well. Hurney has done well, and so far no moves that will cripple us in the future when we get a new GM.

And this is very important.

Updated: 03/13/2018 13:52 Carolina Panthers expected to sign Bashaud Breeland 0972957a944711e78cbcf23c913e91ea_1520862270.jpeg ProFootballFocus

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has reported that the Carolina Panthers are expected to sign former Washington Redskins' CB Bashaud Breeland, with Mike Garafolo reporting that the deal is for three years and worth up to $24 million, with $11 million guaranteed. Washington took Breeland with a fourth-round pick in 2014 and he's been on the field for at least 765 defensive snaps in each of his first four seasons.

Breeland ranked 14th among CBs last season by surrendering an average of just 0.82 yards per coverage snap and quarterbacks had a 75.6 passer rating when targeting him in coverage - the 31st lowest rating allowed out of 124 qualified CBs. The former Clemson Tiger ranked 54th among cornerbacks in 2017 with a 79.0 overall grade, with a 40.7 run defense grade weighing him down a bit.

Yep. Assuming there is somewhat tough out after year 1 and and easy out after year 2. The more I see the numbers other CBs are getting the happier I am.

Basically the opposite of Worley. He can cover, but he isn't much against the run where Worley was a solid tackler but couldn't cover anything.
