No one knew they were say one signings before day one.

I told everyone that we'd have to be proactive and go out and get our guy,  even if he wasn't a top tier guy. The thing is though, we only have so much money and it doesn't make sense to get in a bidding war over marginal guys.

This is the cost for receivers now, panthers need to adjust to 2018 IMO it seems other teams are.

Well some of these teams (Jags especially) are throwing ridiculous contracts at unproven FAs.

Example DJ Hayden deal:

CB DJ Hayden expected to sign with #Jaguars: 3 years, $19 million with $9.5 million guaranteed. Upside to $21 million.

He has been incredibly suspect.

Five million for Smith and 8.5 for Crabtree don't seem all that unreasonable now.

Although I still don't think Crabtree should be a priority, I'm not privy to "the plan." Just have to wait and see what happens like everyone else.

why he isn’t a Panther...

Unreal what very mediocre WRs are getting in this FA market.

And a lot of people were trying to tell me I was crazy for saying that Funchess would get $10-12M next year. Honestly, I probably was but not because I was way high, more likely because I'm way low.

Then again, maybe if a bunch of these guys predictably bust, it'll bring some rationality back to WR contracts.
