yall im super stoked about this signing. we got him for a solid deal imo.

anyhow, here's some propaganda. I'll be posting a film analysis soon too.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2754252-nfl1000-ranking-the-top-outside-cornerbacks-of-2017-season

21. Bashaud Breeland, Washington Redskins

Coverage: 20/25
Reaction: 20/25
Recovery: 17/25
Tackling: 9/15
Position Value: 10/10
Overall Grade: 76/100

He doesn't have the same reputation as his teammate Norman, but quietly Breshaud Breeland had a stellar season for the Washington Redskins. His vastly improved balance on changes in direction resulted in 19 passes defensed, a career high. He's an excellent athlete, capable of playing press-man coverage and routinely forcing tough catches. He's not much of an interception threat, but he's a high-end No. 2 corner at worst right now.

71. Daryl Worley, Carolina Panthers

Coverage: 12/25
Reaction: 13/25
Recovery: 11/25
Tackling: 10/15
Position Value: 10/10
Overall Grade: 56/100

A big, long, physical corner—the type the Panthers prioritize to assist in their run game—the 6'1", 205-pound Worley is less of a coverage threat than any starting corner in the NFL. The second-year man struggled with his technique, overly relying on his strength to disrupt receivers, and then was often in no-man's land in zone assignments. His lack of impact is an issue, and the Panthers should look for an upgrade. Unless Worley suddenly develops an eye for the ball and creates turnovers, he's more suited for a depth role than a starting role.

  1.

IMO, they underrated Worley's tackling. He's a really solid tackler for a CB. But yeah, everything else is about right if not a bit generous. He plain sucks in coverage.

Whats his ball skills like though.

Is he another Bradberry who will just shadow a guy but cant cause a turnover to save his life?

Hell,  I'll take that...

Anyway,  he has a lot of passes defensed from what I've read.  This isn't Antoine Cason here,  Breeland may not be great,  but his upside is good.

Ball skills are better than Bradberry, but not ideal enough.

Granted, a lot has to do with him being a CB2 in the Redskins' scheme and not really needing to do much ball-hawking with Norman on the other side. Even so, would like him to show more ball skills.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
