The Browns

Dorsey is by far the most qualified GM they've been able to hire since they came back into the league. Still may not matter since ultimately poor ownership trickles down and looms over the entire organization but Dorsey is definitely more likely to succeed than anyone else they've had in that FO.

i guess anything can happen. who would have thunk the saints would have had the success they've had the last 10 years considering the decades before that?

They have picks at 1 and 4 and I have heard that they will take 0 QB's, 1 QB, and even 2 QB's.

I think now that the Giants will probably take Chubb, the Browns will go QB and Barkley

Of course they are the Browns......

What say you?

Barkley...#1

I just don't see a scenario where drafting anyone other than Barkley #1 making any sense.
If they do happen to get Barkley at #1 and still get either Darnold, Rosen or Allen at #4, their future is very bright.

In order for that team to get taken seriously, they need to add Barkley. They already drafted Myles Garrett last season to anchor the defense.

Tyrod Taylor / (Josh Rosen / Sam Darnold / Josh Allen)
Saquon Barkley / Carlos Hyde
Josh Gordon / Jarvis Landry / Corey Coleman
David Njoku

That's a formidable offense. I am optimistic of their improvement and have them winning 7 games this year.

Maybe but I think that was more DG shedding a TERRIBLE contract to help them out in the future, I highly doubt he feels the need to instantly replace him. They have a hole there, yes, but they have even bigger holes. One thing we know is DG will go BPA. Very very possible he thinks that is Barkley. Browns may take him though and then there's Nelson. He's a complete beast at a HUGE need for them, and honestly will be every bit as good as Martin if not better. Well worth a top 5 pick. Possibility of QB depends on a few things. Does DG fall in love with a guy this year that he's sure can replace Manning in a year or two? If so that's the pick. And even if he doesn't fall head over heels for one, it's a great class and the question becomes do they think Eli has so little left that they need a replacement ASAP and that the best way that can happen is to take one 2nd, because in their view they likely won't have top 10 picks for a while, limiting their QB options down the road. I kinda think DG does grab a QB now, but even if not I see him ranking both Barkley and Nelson over Chubb. Maybe not but we'll see. Chubb is great and a sure top 10 pick in this draft but he's no Myles Garrett and I just don't really see DG having him as the 2nd best player in the draft particularly over Barkley, Nelson or a QB. We'll see how it turns out though.

In the past, the Giants seldom took an Olineman in the first round.  I am talking about the years Gman was there.  I have my doubts that a G can go number 2 to them.  They did however value pass rushers.

I say Barkley or Chubb.  I think that they will get another 3 years out of Eli

Each year at this time (for a while now) it looks like the Browns are sitting in the veritable catbird seat for the draft. Plenty of picks, all of them high ones -- the very world is their oyster. What choices they make will set the pace and will give them a huge advantage in their rebuilding plan.

It's all so exciting for them and for us. But then reality sets in. This is the same story we've been seeing for a decade. The Browns have wrangled one, two, maybe even three of the top 35 picks. And then they all go and Browns it up.

Browns picks are basically watching two to three great college prospects see their careers go down in flames before they even start. Even can't miss picks end up doing nothing for them. Whoever they pick, just say oh well and send a condolences card to that young man.

You could let them have the first 22 picks of the draft and they'd still post a 3-13 record.

From a karmic standpoint, someone in Cleveland must have done something terribly, terribly bad. It's a wonderful town with wonderful folks but man, what a curse they must have.

Maybe but if there's a QB they're 100% set on above he others they need to take him 1st I think. Or use some of their extra draft capital to ensure they get both their QB and Barkley 1 and 2.

DG was pro personnel director, pretty sure he had limited to no involvement in the draft with the Giants. DG absolutely values DL and OL; my point is that I don't, and most don't, see Chubb as a better prospect than Nelson and I don't think DG will either.

They also have two other DEs that are decent and coming into their 3rd years.

I'd take Barkley and then invest heavily in the O-line to protect the two investments they just made (Barkley and Taylor). Maybe another safety with one of those seconds to pair with Peppers.

I think doing this makes them a playoff team next year. They haven't done this in 15 years.

I disagree

He brought the same philosophy the the Panthers.  Big D Linemen early and O Lineman late
