offseason taek - lamar jackson is actually a good qb.

First, I will cite and remind that this is the off-season, so NFL general talk is allowed in the Panthers forum.

Now, I shall show why Lamar Jackson is actually a good QB through the main himself.

To begin, Lamar Jackson is getting pretty much the Cam Newton treatment in terms of evaluating his ability. Unlike Cam Newton, this is occurring on early in his career and actually impacting his draft stock. In my opinion, Lamar Jackson is a lock top 3 QB in this class at the least. He shows he can indeed progress through his reads (more than any other QB in this class actually), stand in the pocket, and play in a pro-style offense with good efficiency. A lot of his "accuracy issues" stem from poor wide receiver play, much like what Cam Newton has to go through. His "poor footwork" can easily be fixed and isn't an issue whatsoever, and he has all the tools necessary to succeed in the NFL.

No, I'm not advocating this is another race issue. Rather, I'm just simply stating facts that parallel a lot with the misconceptions Cam Newton faces. If anything, Lamar Jackson could be a top tier QB in the right system and with the right people, and even then could work out in pro style systems.

Anyways, here's some propaganda straight from Lamar Jackson to convince you. First of all, Ben Solak is a high quality writer, and NDTScouting is huge in the hardcore NFL draft community. Their data analysis and reviews have been credible, accurate, and telling over the past few years and have dedicated people who actually do the work most typical NFL.com/ESPN pundits do not. So, LJ goes on twitter and retreats this.

As you can see, Lamar Jackson is actually good, and the #data backs it up.

Alright im done.

I've said before that Lamar Jackson will be a considerably better quarterback in this league than Newton. We need to grab him if he falls.

Ew no not even close.

I love lamar but he doesn’t hold a dime to 2010 Cam Newton and present day.

Post on the draft page maybe?

Oh yeah I forgot about that sub-forum. That would’ve made a lot more sense.

While NFL related general stuff is now officially allowed until the pre-season starts, I get the fact this is definitely more draft related than not.

@rayzor mind moving this?

It does not matter where you post anything now as it is the offseason I presume so all draft stuff is fine.

I am actually not even sure why they have a draft page as it is only viable during the offseason when all stuff is posted here.

Maybe they could call it the MOCK draft page or something and keep that stuff there but I quit using it a few years back because nobody goes there

Quarterback in the sense of pure QB play (passing/reading defenses) or all around player at the position (rushing yards)?

    • All I heard was uber rides, weight trainers, and t shirts??? Maybe some meals too........ What a monster and he should be tossed in a rusty wood chipper!!!1!11!!!!!
    • This is from 5 months ago. It was one or the other. Trade for one or draft one. We apparently called the Jets about Wilson. We also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf. Drafting our own guy was the best course of action given the required investment. Regardless now is the time for Bryce Young to produce. We are fourth amongst all teams in cap spending on the OL. Back to back first round picks at WR and multiple young TE draft picks now. Very solid and respectable backfield. New pieces across the defense. The time is now.
    • That was just the worst time to have their worst game of the season. One key deal was the broncos guess the Panthers would NOT change any plays or flow to the game. Another key point overlook that bronco defense was truly one of the best in the NFL history. It was the best defense the Panthers faced that year, by far. They were not ready for it, but broncos were ready for the Panthers. Mix in that bad luck, poor refs showcase, and this is the golden boys last game........ Panthers needed to win by 20 and the broncos defense was not going to allow that.  Panthers were the favorites and I believe they also thought that it was going to easier than them destroying NFC playoff teams as they marched to the SB. I've heard darin Gantt say the play calls were to give remmers help, but for some reason the team never did it. During the year they never had that problem, so maybe never practiced giving help via TE/RB, or WR chip. Cam was superman that year, no need for any adjustments...... Until you meet a legendary defense with studs at all levels, Think about it, Peyton was throwing wingless dunks for the whole season, the defense had to carry his corpse to the SB. That's how good they were, not many defense are able to get to the playoffs and win a SB without decent QB play. If you recall the beginning of that defense took Tim Teblows and his non-throwing arse to the playoffs couple years before. That's insane the level of defense needed to overcome.
