Let us swing for the fences - DJ Chark in the first

We know the Panthers are interested. We need a true deep threat in this offense with Norv Turner coming in. Expect another year of slow developing deep routes. Luckily a situation which Chark excels. True deep speed that shows up on tape.

Nobody on the current roster inspires confidence in that role. Torrey Smith is old and has not been productive in years. Even with his 40 time, Samuel has never shown the ability to consistently get behind the offense and track the ball over his shoulder. Funchess ... don't even make me laugh.  Byrd isn't that fast on the field, has almost no production in his career at any level, and can't stay healthy.

I don't expect Moore or Ridley to be available. Let us go with the receiver with the highest ceiling in this draft. One with a dominant performance at the senior bowl at the game and in practices even with mediocre quarterback play.

Funchess? Don’t even make me laugh?

What the fug man Funchess is trending up big time. Anyone can see that.

Byrd isn’t that fast? Smh

Byrd can play. Samuel can play. Smith and Wright have proven they can play.

If we draft a WR it isn’t because the position is still a weakness. It’s because Hurney wants to stack the position so that no matter what happens Cam has weapons and score at any level of the field.

FS Reid

WR Moore or Ridley (I am seeing RIdley dropping--dreams--but do we take a WR is Samuels is ready for camp?)

DE Landry (a 3-4 OLB?  Marty will have Everette Brown flashacks and not do this)

OL Ragnow, Daniels, or Hernandez:  We need a starter--unless Moton screws the pooch at LG, we don't have an opening---unless we cut Ryan!

CB: Alexander

TE: David Newton thinks we would take Hurst.  No, David.

RB: Chubb?  No. We can get a good RB in round 3.

It sure looks to me like we will go with a DB in the first round.  A Center makes sense if you release Ryan Kalil and free up some cap room.  We could go WR, only if Moore or Ridley is there.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
