Here's my big board. Would love to see other variations if anyone else has one.

I'm considering these players as good as gone.

  • 4 QB'S
  • 3 DE'S, Chubb,Davenport,Landry
  • 2 Safties Fitzpatrick, James
  • 2 LB'S, Smith, Edmunds
  • 1 DT, Vea
  • 1 RB, Barkley
  • 1 Guard, Nelson
  • 1 Corner, Ward

Thats 15 down, so heres my top 9 in order of preference  I think will be in consideration at 24, with at least 1 being available.

  1. Ridley (WR)
  2. Alexander (CB)
  3. Jackson (CB)
  4. D.J Moore (WR)
  5. Wynn (G/T)
  6. Harrison (S)
  7. Ragnow (G/C)
  8. Hernandez (G)
  9. Daniels (G/C)

Of those 9 we've had a confirmed private visit with each of them outside of Jackson, Wynn and Hernandez. Also noticed we did not have a single visit with any of the 15 listed in the as good as gone list.

So, according to your board, we should be getting ourselves a really good player at #24. And there was great rejoicing.

Part of me wants one of those top WRs, but man, rookie WRs have a bad habit of taking time to develop. But in this draft, if you want a good one, you have to take him early.

Part of me wants one of those top DBs. But man, you can get quality in the 2nd, and even the 3rd. But yeah, getting one of the top DBs would go a long way to improve our back end.

Part of me wants Hurst. The cat has that look about him.

And there is a part of me. Way down inside. That wants a DE to pair with Hall, and Obada. Not sure where he will come from. But a dude can hope.

I'm trying so hard not to entertain the idea of drafting Ridley at 24.  This thread is not helping.  You just have to imagine the price it would cost to sign a WR like him in FA he will be long gone in the top 15, but people seem to believe there's a chance.

That's because other teams outside of the Cowboys  have bigger needs than WR. The Ravens could stand one, but they also need a right tackle badly, and it's arguably a bigger need than WR.

All that being said, I think the Cowboys may pick Courtland Sutton. The Ravens, Mike McGlinchey.

You never know though.

D.J. Moore may turn out to be the better receiver. Christian "Baby OBJ" Kirk may have something to say as well.

Yep, that is slept on. O-line is terrible, even 2015 the pass blocking was ahead of run blocking, but this is supposed to be a run first team. LOL

Hernandez or Wynn would be excellent, especially if Panthers could trade down later in 1st and still get them.

Wynn is more consistent and  better technically, but weaker with a lesser mean streak than Hernandez. What intrigue me about Wynn is if he could possibly slide over and play LT at a high level consistently. Could he grow into  a  LT  like Kelvin Beachum  who he compares to in size? Maybe or maybe not, but I know he will be an All-pro LG for at least 10 years.

Also, some expect Taylor Moton to train at LG then transition to LT after Kalil is gone. Depends on what the Panthers feel is the right decision.

1 DJ Moore  WR

2 Ridley  WR

3 Hughes CB

4 Kolton Miller, OT

5  Mike McGlinchey, OT

6 Alexander CB

7 Justin Reid, S

8 Hayden Hurst^, TE, South Carolina

9 James Daniels, C

10 Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M

The motivation this year is much different than others, here is my top 10 board at #24 but I'm not drafting for my job and a new owner. Hurney needs to have an impact player in the first Rd and the OT are not impact players for this year. That is why the WR or CB are most likely the pick.

    • Technically speaking, Fields has been a better QB than Bryce Young in the NFL.  I mean it’s bottom rung comparing by BY isn’t better.  Thats what I don’t get about the talk this week.  We don’t have a QB edge
    • Might be different against a team with no legitimate pass catching options outside of their rookie TE though.  Their #1 WR tomorrow has 8 catches this season, next best WR receptions number this year is 4. If we can't defend that while Horn travels with their TE, then we have some serious problems.   Maybe we don't end up doing that in the end, but it's probably how I'd be scheming up the defense tomorrow when they have only 1 non RB pass catching option.
    • I fought sleep to stay awake just to watch that fumble on the goal line as we were going in for the go ahead score and said fug it, I'm going to bed. I've seen this movie before. I know how this ends. This bullshit of having California teams in conference with east coast teams is trash. That game probably didn't end until 2:30AM. Hell, it was 2AM at the time of the fumble and there was still 3+ minutes to play. In conference games being played into the 2AM hour for local audiences is terrible for the game. And the worst rule in football really does need fixed. Fumbling through the endzone or a fumble recovers by the D in the end zone should not result in a touch back and the ball on the 20. Fumbling through the endzone should not be a turnover. Fumbling out of bounds isn't a turnover anywhere else on the field. That should be the offense's ball on the one yard line. If the D recovers it in the endzone it should be the D's ball on the one yard line. Everyone knows this and everyone talks about it so just fix it already. If Cal was getting the ball at the goal line instead of out to the 20 I would've kept watching. That's a completely different scenario than the ball at the 20.
