Darnold over a generational running back in Barkley and Chubb at 1 and 4...make your defensive line nasty and have a backfield with Barkley and Carlos Hyde. Tyrod Taylor with actual weapons in Jacksons offense will likely be more than serviceable.

I actually really like that.  Issue is having a QB long term though in their (and their fans) eyes

The NFL say the picks early for years, then it stopped. Leave it up to the media again to ruin something. People don't want to know before the draft. Otherwise why watch the fuging draft? We've been down this road Mario Williams.

It's all smokescreens though tbh. I'm sitting there thinking jesus imagine Myles and Chubb as pass rushers. They did sign Tyrod who is a good QB. The media is just hyping this as much as possible for ratings. OMG WILL THEY TAKE TWO QBS!? fug watch them take none.

Hack sports writers inserting themselves into the story during the NFL draft is damn close to the most annoying thing in the world.  It’s a scramble to see which egghead can top the others on the ol’ Twitter. Gross AF. I hate this new breed of Adderall sports journalism. Mad dash erratic, and insufferably annoying.

Then again, I am an old guard journalist with old guard sensibilities.

Anyway. Congrats, Benjamin Albright. You get to be famous. For 12 hours. Sorta.

And, by the way, not to pick on this Albright guy, but this is the quintessential 2018 generic sports tweeter avatar.

Look at that intensity. Those eyes. Hot takes aren’t born, men....they’re made.

But, yea. If your profile pic resembles this in any way: douche.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
