Marquis Haynes can be our Yannick Ngakoue (or Robert Mathis-lite)

Nice grammar. You have no facts. What do you know about Marquis Haynes? Nothing. Or is every undersized DE the same guy to you, which would explain your neanderthal-like attitude towards every conversation?

Replace the pine cone you used with an actual tampon, and try to actually have a rational, thought out conversation with theoretical comparisons based on talent and production instead of lazy analogies that have been long worn out just because "it was a Hurney pick."

That's not going to happen here because Hurney drafted him. If Gettleman had drafted him these same people would be praising the pick and comparing him to Mathis.....but since he didnt they wont fo anything but say he sucks like every pick hurney made.

E. Brown says hi. Please don't get your hopes up.

whats the point of being a fan then? if its going to help us be distracted by how sucky real life is, might as well be optimistic. I cant even imagine the misery some of these posters are in when they are totally consumed by something they cant control and yet they are entirely pessimistic. not saying that is you, but it exists on this board. its sad really

Haynes & Brown won't be implemented the same way, Brown was supposed to ''replace'' Peppers. Haynes is until further notice ''striclty'' a situational rusher, with the ability to drop.

If he's only put in situations that accentuate his skill set as a pass rusher (with multiple moves per scouts outside the org, and confirmed by RR) then he could have a relatively productive rookie season.

Three to seven sacks is not something I'd scoff at as a rotational player, the NFL is trending more ''under-szied'' speed rushers and we've seen several examples of recent success, so it'll be on the staff to maximize his potential. And with a DL guy as the DC, I think we're in good shape to do that.

Lol tbh I don't think Rumham or Snake actually REMEMBER Everette Brown.

Wasn't that the guy was bad, just not an every down DE.

Nevermind the fact that we took Hayes in the 4th and that we traded a future first for Brown THEY BOTH SUCK HURNEY SUCKS FIRE HURNEY

Yeah, I think this kid has the potential to be electric. You can't block what you can't touch. (hyperbole of course, but the point remains)

Sometimes athleticism is on another level and can really offset other limitations - in any sport.

I think used properly, in obvious passing situations, he'll wreak havoc as early as this year, given opportunity.

I get it now. You are an intellectually-deficient toddler. Now that I know my audience, I'll let you get back to your legos before nap time.

Says the person who thinks a 230 lb DE is going to be the next Robert Mathis. I bet you wanted to give Ryan Delaire that one more chance huh?

And I think that is key. Haynes can be put in a situation to succeed right away if they implement his skills the right way. He should be a designated 3rd down rusher that can also be a decoy to drop into coverage (he has the skills to do so). He can be an effective 4th DE and zone rusher immediately, and possibly more dependent upon his determination and development. The athletic ability is definitely not in question.

Your reading comprehension is appalling. Start with Dr. Suess, work your way forward, then try to have a conversation with me down the road.

Did you know: players can be used like how a team used another player, but not have the same carrer success as said player.

Heres an idea

not every player pans out. just because one guy of a similar build doesnt pan out, doesnt mean every guy will flop

if we arent trying new things and and trying to comb through and bring in guys with potential, then we are wasting our time. throwing poo against the wall to see what sticks is the typical mentality of mid-late round guys.

    • SUBSTANTIALLY shorter than Will Campbell. Didn’t know how much until now. I’ll be surprised if he ends up with a real shot at OT anywhere tbh.
    • The front office may think more of KP than Howell. The point wasn't that Howell was some sort of god on the football field. He's had a relatively good season once. That's potential.  KP has thrown for 2500 and 2000 in back to back seasons and was benched in 23' That's not good. 13 TDs in 25 games in Pittsburgh as a starter. Howell had 3950/21/21 in a single season.  I'm not proclaiming Howell is a franchise saver. I'm saying KP has never once achieved Bryce's best season and now he's his backup. This follows Dalton who was so terrible he should have been let walk last off-season but wasn't, again, no threat to Bryce. Jack Plummer, so bad in his 1st camp the Huddle wanted to chase him out of town, so he's brought back for a 2nd. If you can't recognize the pattern, that's on you.  I'm not even saying I want Howell. I'm saying Pickett is so bad he could barely do in 2 years what Howell did in 1. We didn't aggressively make our QB room better. We made it worse.
    • I'm sure he could play LG, but Hunt is still here. You save 14 million in salary if you move on from him after 2026 season, but no reason you wouldn't think that Icky would want or command more than that on the open Market so would be a wash to me really.
