CB >>>>>FS/SS. I have much more faith in a rookie saftey as opposed to a rookie CB.

Then you dont know our defense then. Safety play might be more important than corner in our scheme. The fact we don't value them like we should is our problem. But a zone blitz scheme needs physical safeties who can play the run and pass and clobber receivers coming over the middle.

dont know why everything is underlined.

How can we dump Adams he was our best DB last year hands down.

Neither will be dumped.  Both are still good players.  No, they are not all-pros, but each are legitimate starters/primary reserves.

Resources: Cap Room + Human Resources (Humans that can be liquidated for Cap room)

For example, here is how we can create $5m in Cap room by doing some weeding in positions where we got better.  Most of us know this,  but what would $5.3m get you in free agency?

Colin Jones ST/SS  $1.2m:  Last year, Jones started 7 games and got his second career interception.  He turns 31 during the season, so it is likely that he has lost speed.  His combined 23 tackles during a season where he started 7 games suggests that his special teams expertise may be slipping or he has little value as a defensive player.  We now have more speed (Jackson, Gaulden, Haynes, etc) on special teams and need the roster spot, especially if we add a S to join Searcy, Adams, Gaulden, and Cox (good depth and a bargain at $550,000.)

Capt. Munnerlyn Nickel $1.3m (post June 1)  Get the feeling he is gone?  When mouth exceeds productivity and the second round draft pick (Jackson) and a player coming off IR (Corn) plays the nickel, you better be worth a nickel.  Captain is probably losing his job, so the Panthers need to eat a bad contract and save $1.3m after June 1.

Russell Shepard WR  $2.8 m (post June 1) I really do not see both sides of the debate.  He had Cam  have no chemistry and he has no hands.

(Mike Adams, SS  $2m:  Not that I recommend it, but  this is what it would save.

we all have bad memories of rookie secondary....the 2 rookies need to be on the field...early...and be making big impact by november...but we do need vet presence as well...captain & either searcy or adams gonna be on the bench by then i hope

If the rookies are our best option then absolutely they should play. That would mean they are ahead of schedule or our vets suck.

I don't care what made you come to this opinion.. But Sercey is not a good player.. He is a in the box safety who is hurt a lot now.. Plus he's slow.. If the idea is to add speed to the backend.. Gauldin will start or they will sign somebody after May 10th.. If Boston or Reid or Mitchell isn't signed by MAy 10th I expect one of them to be brought in..

I think we add another safety and drop Mike Adams

I'd be happy to add another safety and drop Adams AND Searcy... Both are garbage, fug it, drop Colin Jones as well, I'm 100% positive we could find a UDFA better then him too

I agree it's so dam good to not have to throw them into the fire but I like OPEN competition might mess around and take Cockrells spot.

Those cuts minus the Adams are a good look for us financially. Can we meet in the middle of the road with Tre like 2.5 similar to Searcy which I can see why he would be upset he had a great year Searcy not so much one has a 2 million dollar contract ones unemployed, that's KAYNE right there. Crazzzyyy
