Gantt is the asshat that was spreading rumors about Greg Olsen. He's a bitter man.

Gantt never misses an opportunity to poo on the Panthers. If he’s talking about the Panthers he always finds a way to put a negative spin on it. Oh yeah, he mad.

Told you this was going badly and JR was going to fight this. Teppers bid 2.3b or so, Navs is 2.6b....so yea...

I had heard his original bid was only about two.

I figured for there to be an issue out of this he would have to have upped his bid, if it's 2.3 now, sounds like that's what happened.

Still less than Navarro though, but league leverage makes a difference.

Makes a ton of sense as to why Panthers don't have a new owner yet.

Navarro is form South Carolina, he's keeping the team in Charlotte, and he's the highest bidder.

he should be the new owner by now !

If this story is true it makes you wonder how much the league really wants to keep the Panthers in Carolina.

Not going to dispute findings on JR...

but it does figure that you would be the one to see gantt as credible

I mean there is nothing to dispute. Jerry sucks.im also not a fan of gantt, just pointing out that you're making stuff up again. To say gantt never liked Jerry is 100% wrong. Gantt has always been appreciative of how Jerry helped him with PFT.

How so? My guess would be that JR has all the leverage. His rep is already trash and the only thing the league can do in the case that he picks Navarro is vote against him becoming owner.

For a league with more bad PR right now than maybe anytime in it’s history, do they really want to vote against a guy from the teams state that spends millions helping educate kids. Would that really be a good look?

Lol. You don't think the league can wrap up their "investigation" at anytime?? The league has more than enough info to remove Richardson from the picture/ decision making and sell to whom ever they choose. They are likely holding on to that card, as they don't want to make more of media circus, than already exists. The league WILL get the owner they want. Who ever that may be.

I wouldn't disagree with you about Darin Gantt's attitude toward the Panthers, and Jerry Richardson in particular (some would argue he has cause there).

But does this story really reflect negatively on the Panthers?

I'm jusr not seeing it.

They do, but when it comes time to push for a new stadium you need leverage. Navarro is less likely to move the team. Tepper will play the kind of ball the nfl wants him too... no idea on if Navvaro would do the same.

Hes not going any higher and that's the problem, the NFL wants him as the owner. JR wants Navarro as owner. Only way NFL wins that is if Tepper raises his bid over what Navarro will go but NFL isn't making him do that. Trying to force JR to take the lower of the bids.

Yeah, that part we knew.

Speculation was that Richardson was trying to push the price higher, but instead it looks like the NFL is the a--hole here.

They shouldn't describe it as a "sale", sale implies that it is an auction to the highest bidder.

They should say, whoever we invite to the club that can afford it.

Early on in this, I wasn't necessarily all that tied to one of the other. I liked Navarro but likes Tepper as well.

But the longer this goes on, the further I lean toward Navarro.

You may be discounting the American judicial system a bit. If I were Richardson, I'd meet strong arm tactics with strong arm tactics. This thing could be dragged out forever if the league doesn't play somewhat to the tune of what could be a bitter old man.
