WR Curtis Samuel (ankle) got a little bit of work during team period today. Rehab has gone very well. Rivera: "That was good to see. We increased some of his team reps early on and then shut him down. Hopefully tomorrow we can increase a little more or do the same thing."

Physical assessments don't measure aptitude. Luke isn't the most athletic guy (probably in the Top 25% for his position), but he can make all the plays you can want because of his aptitude.

Luke is easily one of the most athletic LBs in the league PLUS his football smarts, that’s why he’s a friggin all time great already. Your point stands though.

Wait, what? I wasn't told this!

How long has he been white?

Reminds me of Richard Pryor in “See no evil, hear no evil” ...

”What! I’m not white! ... Does dad know?”

He was a top performer in nearly every single category.

Luke is a physical freak in addition to being one of the smartest to play the  position.

He's just white.

I said Top 25%. Pretty sure that number one is encompassed in there. My argument still holds, he is in the Top 25% of his position group, regardless of draft year, athletically.

This is a myth. Go back and look at Luke’s combine numbers. He’s a freak.

Who was it who was saying Samuel wouldn't be ready for camp based on nothing?

I certainly was among those doubting Samuel would be ready. I was basing it on Rivera and Hurney's REPEATED failures to mention Samuel when talking about our receivers and our offense. It seemed like they were assuming that they couldn't count on him playing a role.

Thrilled that he seems to be doing more than expected.

Also thrilled that Ryan K is a full go. That could make a huge difference to our O line. Larsen did ok, but he's not an All Pro...

I have doubts he can stay healthy or be a serious contributor. But there was someone specifically  saying he wouldn't be ready for camp. This was directly after a report he was running and progressing.....which was odd.

Not odd for the huddle.  Too many here like to be contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian.  Facts and truth don't matter.  I guess it makes them feel smarter than they really are.

not on twitter, but some good stuff here from Jourdan

Linebacker David Mayo took some snaps with the first-team defense in team drills, alongside Shaq Thompson. Mayo had a diving pass breakup in the end zone.

▪ Receiver Damiere Byrd had two clutch catches in double coverage during team drills. Receiver Torrey Smith stretched for a touchdown catch in the back of the end zone during red zone drills. That got the offense chirping.

▪ As he did all last year, running back Christian McCaffrey worked both at running back and pass-catcher out of the backfield. He also lined up in the slot at times.
