Nuthin concrete, but since it's basically the offseason - I figured I'd post

If we do that give them Nic Batum also.  Lol Lebron like the vets, but I doubt they'd take on that much salary.  I think Lebron is gonna bolt though after the finals. As much as it pains me  I'd actually have to pull for Cleveland if they get back to the Finals, cause I'd love to see Kemba get a ring.

If this is done I hope we ask for another asset like Hood or even George Hill with 8.  This puts a ton of pressure on the draft...really gotta hit this time.  I hate to see Kemba go but if we can't resign him this is a good move.

The only way Cleveland does this is if they know Lebron is coming back. Otherwise, it's a dumb move for them.

Depends

The #8 spot isnt guaranteed to be a star.

2017 Markkanen was a stud

But let look at some others

2016- Marquese Chriss

2015- Stanley Johnson

2014- Nik Strauskas

2013- Kentavious Cauldwell Pope

2012- Terrence Ross

2011- Brandon Knight

2010- Al Foruq Aminu

2009- Jordan Hill

2008- Joe Alexander

2007- Brandon Wright

Do you take a risk at that or grab a Proven All-Star PG?

Adding a All-Star PG may help persuade Lebron into staying in Cleveland.  Without it, might not.  Remember he likes the more proven guys. Remember Kevin Love trade for the #1 pick Wiggins plus some.

And say he does leave.  You still have a All-Star PG that can still win some games with those pieces.  If not, its going to be another "process".

If its something, a piece, that would make Lebron happen and persuade to stay.  Theyll trade

Remember, this is the same team and owner that traded the #1 pick, the #1 pick from the previous year, and a solid role player for Kevin Love to make Lebron happy

Who can walk away at the end of the season. So they could end up trading a lottery pick for nothing.

1st of all we would need the Cavs to win a game or 2 to give Lebron hope they are only a player (Kemba) away from competing for the title.

That said I would do it because I am in the camp of tear it down and start over but the problem is Cleveland doesn't have the cap space or players for them to take any of our bad contracts. I tried to find a way to take one of Batum, MKG, Cody, Marvin and it doesn't really make sense.

Kemba + Julyan Stone for #8 Clarkson & Nance. That is the best package we could get which I don't like at all.

Other potential Kemba trades;

With 76ers Kemba for Fultz + #10 (Would 76ers want to give up on Fultz?)

With Knicks Kemba for Ntilikina + Lance Thomas + #9  (Heavy price tag for NY who are somewhat rebuilding)

With Suns Kemba + Marvin for #16 Chriss or Bender + #1 Bucks pick next year fillers

Why are a lot of fans ok with giving up the best player we have ever had?

Don't think any of us are ok with doing it. We just feel like the ultimate goal of any organization is to compete for the championship and we can't do that without a complete rebuild. We have a bunch of horrible contracts and our best player is about to get paid. We will treadmill the 7-11 seed if we resign Kemba. We trade him our rebuild can get a jump start with additional picks and we will probably suck next year getting a higher pick.

    • I'll say 6. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition and will do more to help the defense than anyone. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole there. For all the hype surrounding Sanders and Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
    • 2010 was worse. Not much worse but worse.
    • Lol since 2017 the Panthers are 47-85,    Also since 2017 the Giants are 40-91-1   Lol
