I don’t think he was a legitimate candidate, and now is using this opportunity for some free publicity to get his name out there and remind people that he is rich. With that being said, PD could be the richest person on earth and I doubt NFL owners like Bob McNair, Old Man Richardson, Jerry Jones l, etc would have allowed a person like Puffy into their elite circles.

Again, have a look at Puffy's run-in's with the law. He should never own a pro sports team.

I’m a bit rusty on Puff Daddy’s legal issues - when and what occurred?

You also might want to read up on the legal issues of several NFL owners before you decide who is allowed to own a team. Jim Irsay is allowed to own a team. Jerry Richardson owned a team. Zygi Wilf was found liable of using organized crime tactics to steal people’s money. Not to mention the numerous front office, upper management employees of NFL times who have committed crimes that are still employeed.

He did in another. Said he didn't want to be associated with a racist organization because of the kneeling.

Have a hard time taking an article seriously when the last sentence starts with "Best believe."

So far I’m pleased with what I see/hear about Tepper, but boy it would have been hilarious if Puff Daddy and his entourage would have purchased the Panthers. It would have really shaken up the fan base and a lot of folks who have problems/issues with certain cultures and parts of our society would have probably jumped shipped to the Cowboys or Steelers. I wouldn’t have had a problem with that, as I’ve said on here we need to trim the fat of this fan base a little bit.

Combs could be the richest person on earth and I have a strong inclination to believe that he would have only a slightly better chance to buy the panthers than I do. No way in hell the good ol boys of the NFL would have let a rapper in to their circle - he doesn’t check a lot of the boxes that they look for.

This might be the first time I've ever seen a HYPOTHETICAL racism charge from 4Corners.  Lmao.

Hey gang, you know that thing that didn't happen?  It would have been racist had it happened.

Keep fighting the good fight, 4.

Found this while looking for updates on the ownership transition. Reportedly stated during a radio interview where he expressed that he now no longer wants to own an NFL team...

Diddy doesn't want to own an NFL team anymore

Video link here (just after 42 minutes in): Big Boy TV

I have zero interest in revisiting the anthem debate, but what I find crazy in this story is Diddy's claim about being in the bidding process right to the end when there's plenty of indication that he was never in the process at all.

The only way this has any credibility is if Diddy was part of Michael Rubin's group, but even there it's been reported that Rubin bowed out early - March, to be precise - after being told he'd need a bid of at least 2.5 billion to be in the game (that wasn't true of course, but hey). Per multiple reports, Ben Navarro was the final bidder before David Tepper was ultimately awarded the franchise, with Alan Kestenbaum being a dark horse.

To be clear though, Diddy never mentions Rubin, only himself.

So is Combs talking about being part of Rubin's group here or just lying his ass off to make himself look good?

Rappers, or pretty much anyone in the modern music biz, can be considered as professional wrestlers when it comes to their time on camera. It's always just a show and don't break kayfabe.

Hulk Hogan didn't steal Macho Man's wife and you can rent a Bentley or two for a video shoot.

Yes, Diddy has a lot of money, compared to you, I or most of the people we'll know. But among billionaires, ummm, he's who again?

Lol.

The fact you pigeon hole Combs' wealth to rapping or being a rapper shows how you don't know wtf you are spouting about.

Dude is a household name.

No, I know he has quite the empire, reaching way beyond music. Music is probably just 20% of his income. Forbes has reported him with a net worth of $820 million, which, like I said is huge for you, me and anyone we likely know, but it isn't in the same club as the folks who can drop $2.5 billion on pro team.
