Spurrier wants The Golden Calf of Bristol in new league

Just something to fill in this dull time before camp. Spurrier is courting The Golden Calf of Bristol to join him the Alliance of American football league. Wants to reunite and bring him in as a QB I guess. The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't going to cut it in baseball it seems, do either this or the college broadcast booth. I guess some people will watch if this happens....I don't care either way.

I heard Spurrier running his mouth on FNZ a few weeks ago, bragging about beating UNC in football like 50 years ago in Kenan while he was the head coach at duke. What a loser. Spurrier is the same coach who 100% quit on the gamecocks mid season a few years ago because the going got tough and the ball wasn’t bouncing his way. What a shameful excuse of a coach and a man, giving up on those kids he recruited even though he probably paid some for their services.

Spurrier is a front runner, a poor sport, and a loud mouth. He should keep his trap shut and worry about playing golf.

It's really funny you brought up 2015, the year Spurrier resigned,  That was the best season for UNC in a long time and the worst season for USC. USC still beat the Tar Heals. Tar Heal fans should just refrain from discussing football.

You don’t need to concern yourself or worry about what UNC fans should or shouldn’t do.

My comments about Spurrier are accurate. He is one of the most overrated coaches in the history of football. Basically a glorified collegiate OC. To call up a local station boasting about beating a team like 45 years ago shows how fragile and insecure he is. Sakerliner fans should despise him because he quit on the team, program, and school.

I’d rather be a UNC fan in football than Sakerliner. UNC has a chance to compete and at  the very least play in a conference title game. Sakerliner plays in an a loaded conference and they sure as hell ain’t getting past UGA any time soon and once Florida and Tennessee get right Sakerliner will be lucky to finish third in their division.

If this is the kind of talent they’re targeting, then it has already failed.

They aren't exactly going to pull NFL talent away from the league. This will be exactly the level of talent they'll get. The guys who couldn't make it in the pros. Soooo...

Blah, blah, blah... Gamecocks are always better than the tarheels at football (which is really nothing to brag about). Most UNC fans I know like them in basketball but pull for someone like FSU, Alabama, Clemson, etc in football. That is straight up pathetic.

I actually agree the way he left USC was questionable, but he knew his time was done and wanted to give them a chance to begin moving forward.

money is all this is. The NFL needs a grooming league for a better word. MLB has the minors, and the NFL needs it too. Arena league, semi pro whatever you want to call it, the NFL needs to support a minor league.

First time in my natural born life I've heard that about UNC fans.  Now dook on the other hand, I don't know any "dook fans" that actually pull for them in football.

Is a Sakerliner fan really whining about and criticizing the UNC fan base for not pulling for football? Most Sakerliner fans probably didn’t even know that they had a b-ball team until their miraculous Cinderella fun two years ago (UNC won the natty).

I go to UNC football games and watch my Heels every game day. These unc “fans” you know that pull for someone else during FB season are probably really tight with the Sakerliner fans who pull for duke during basketball season which is like 97% of the fanbase and alumni. LOL!!!!!!!

That’s what makes it even worse losing to them in football like we have since Fedora arrived. You hear duke “fans” running their mouths about it when they aren’t even really duke fans during football season. UNC got it twice from them last year. Losing to duke and Notre Dame. notre dame is the the football program duke b-ball fans pull for aside from Sakerliner.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
