While I agree we won't.  We did send someone to Beal's or Anderson's pro day.

Even if we did I would see any one of the non-playoff teams bidding on him before us.

yep, I could see us throwing out a fifth, but we won't get the chance.

This guy is worth it !

Brandon Bryant, SS, Mississippi State: There are always spots in the NFL for talented athletes with exceptional physical traits. That's why scouts were paying close attention to Bryant as a prospect after he earned recognition as one of the most explosive college football players in 2016 and '17. Despite failing to perform up to lofty expectations during his pro day, Bryant posted respectable numbers for his position (checking in at 5-foot-11 and 207 pounds with 4.45/4.52 40 times, a 34-inch vertical and a 10-3 broad jump) in front of representatives from 14 teams.

On tape, Bryant flashes decent movement skills, range and toughness, but he isn't a playmaker in the back end. Although he tallied five career interceptions as a Bulldog, he snagged three of those picks in 2015 and didn't make much of an impact after his initial success. With questions surrounding his work ethic, discipline and attention to detail after his on-field (blown coverages) and academic struggles, Bryant is likely to be a seventh round/priority free agent prospect on most boards around the leag

In my mind, you don't dismiss the supplemental draft out of hand.  You have to look at your own needs, consider who will be available respective to each position in next year's draft, assign a valuation, and make a determination from there.

Basically, the smart GM looks at the bigger picture.

As an MSU alum who watched him play in college, I’d pass unless it was a 7th. He had a decent freshmen year then he just ended up having some mental issues. His dad passed away after his freshmen year and unfortunately he just never recovered. His instincts were just awful at some points, he never could figure out how to take the right angle when closing and missed a LOT of tackles

I posted this in one of the other unnecessary 3,000 supplemental draft threads this offseason - but I would probably pass on all of these guys. Maybe burn a 6th or 7th on one of the corners but that would be it. These dudes all have red flags and are accompanied with baggage. The guys that got the boot because of grades, I mean come on bro there are people on campus giving you extra benefits and multiple chances and you still can’t pull in a 1.75 or whatever it is.

    • Jack Roslovic: Only 2 other UFA, right-handed centers age 28 or under had more points (39) than him- Sam Bennett (51) and Pius Suter (46). There were 4 other centers age 33 and older who scored more: Gireaux (37), Marchand (37), Tavares (34), Granlund (33).  Unless the Canes go old, if they let Jack walk, they won't get a center who scored more.  Thoughts?
    • nope     This is why we come back every year.  Hope springs eternal
    • It's important to differentiate criticism and hate. I can't speak for that individual you quoted. But most people who have been critical of the Tepper's have been so because both of them have made it a point to put themselves front and center and in the middle of team operations and we have been largely horrific more often than not as a result. If people are making derogatory remarks about her that should be met with an appropriate response but if people are being defensive just because she's being criticized all I can say is people should get used to it. Both her and David would have been getting absolutely skewered by the media and the fans if this were a big market franchise. The Lakers are finally being sold off after years and years of public criticism of Jeannie Buss and even though I'm the furthest you could go from being a Lakers fan just about anyone you could meet who is familiar with the NBA would say the criticism was certainly valid.
