James Bradberry showing up in Year 3

One player I hope to see get over their sophomore slump happens to be James Bradberry.

And so far during camp, he’s doing quite well.

On this play, Bradberry’s employing press coverage on DJ Moore. While I do admit Moore’s weakness is beating press, this snap right here he does little wrong.

Moore gets a good release on this play on Bradberry. However, the third year corner keeps with the speedy rookie. Bradberry maintains position and anticipates the shoulder fade was coming, so he doesn’t flinch and maintain position to break up the ball.

And before one of you say “hur dur terrible throw” since I know there will be “teh Huddle Expurts” coming in with what you deem to be “expurt analysus,” understand that shoulder fades tend to have the QB aim right at the corner while the WR reacts. So yes, the throw was fine. Bradberry just made an incredible play.

It's too early, in my opinion, to be drawing general conclusions. I think that everyone desires to see Bradberry (and everyone else) improve. Unless he craps the bed in multiple preseason games or something, we're not going to see enough to make sweeping statements until probably somewhere between weeks three and five. Just my opinion. All we can do now is hope that the light switch has been turned on, but we'll know in several weeks.

No

Umm yes, Saftey play around him made that man look better than what he is. He is good but not good as Bradberry. What kind of secondary coverage did the Saints play by the way , I know it was different from the typical NFL norm?

This is a good argument because after JB's first year he was rated equal with Jalen Ramsey. His second year was a slump and Jalen continued to improve on his first year. We have to see how Latt plays this year before really debating this topic.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
