What’s your solution to the tackle situation?

Keep a FB/TE on that side to block, use an extra tackle on a few plays, have Cam take the snap out of the shotgun more so he can at least see it coming, lots of quick passes, have Cam take a really deep drop- he's got the arm to drop an additional 5-10 yards and still get the ball out, Rolling pockets. If the run game is going, playaction can freeze the DE.

As much as I hate to say this, for obvious reasons, 2 TE sets.  Also, on a limited basis-read option. Use it all the time, Cam gets beat up  bad, but, on 10-15% of the plays, makes the DE hesitate, hopefully makes him hesitate on non RO plays too.

While I was bitching at the early bye week given to us it may be a blessing in disguise. With playing the Cowboys, Falcons, And Bengals we could still be 2-1 before the week 4 bye. Then hopefully we will have Kalil back. Maybe even Williams. To me the key to the season is if we can get Williams back playing at a decent level.  If Kalil still struggles put Moton at LT.

Although I still think the best line would have been Kalil, Moton,Kalil, Turner, Williams.  But that is now gone.

If I was another team watching preseason games (which I hope we are and assume everyone does), I’d trade for Butler in a heartbeat based on what the huddle would give him up for now. Around here seems like most would be happy to get a 5th or later.

No GM wants to watch another team's boring ass preseason games.

I don't think any configuration involving Matt Kalil would have been our best. I hope Moton does an average job at LT. If so, we need to move forward with Williams and he at the tackle positions.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
