I heard on 99.9 the fan today that David Glenn was talking to David Newton and Glenn said he heard Tom Glick was going to be team president and Newton said it was not made official yet. Real exciting time

I may be partial cause of my interest in international soccer, but this is a huge hire. Glick has helped build one of the biggest sports brands in the world.

For the past six years, Glick has been instrumental in the development of City Football Group (CFG), a multi-national soccer organization that includes six clubs. CFG’s original and flagship club is three-time and current English Premier League champion Manchester City FC. The group also owns New York City FC of Major League Soccer, as well as clubs in the top divisions in Australia, Spain, Japan and Uruguay. As chief commercial officer, Glick oversaw partnership sales and activation, marketing, content production and distribution, retail and licensing, and fan relationship management for all of CFG’s clubs.

During his tenure, CFG has completed several major infrastructure developments. In Manchester, Etihad Stadium has been expanded with more seating, major improvements in premium seating and wider fan amenities. In 2015, Manchester City opened a new state-of-the-art training facility, the City Football Academy, built on 80 acres of land adjacent to the stadium. CFG has also completed two further training ground developments, in New York and Melbourne.

Big time hire. Not exactly hiring a son, a small time college sports executive from your Alma mater  or former player or former cheerleader. 

Guy went after someone with big time experience building a brand...and not someone that was in between gigs either. Mr. Tepper went headhunting and got himself who he wanted. I like it.

This guy has an impressive resume, with a load of marketing experience in several sports. Soccer-heavy, which meshes with Tepper’s obvious pursuit of an MLS franchise.
