To the people freaking out after the win....

Ya’ll be tripp’n

We won the game! Our team is beat up bad! Any win when our team is in this bad of shape is a good win, no matter how it comes!

so do y’all even understand the game?

Did you even have a clue what to expect after the training camp?

Did you know that the Oline was in shambles before the season even started?

I’m not saying we can’t be a good team this year, but normally when you get struck by the injury bug this bad you’re lucky if you make the playoffs. Remember 2004 season anyone? Yup it sucks but it happens and I’m as disappointed as anyone.

But this freaking out and calling for coaches to be fired after a win is ridiculous.

Not sure what the problem is.  We won.  Defense played great.  Our offense did fine considering the injuries we have.  Let's also give the Dallas defense some credit they are really good.  If McCaffrey doesn't fumble we at least get 3 pts on that drive and if Amini doesn't Amini than we get that extra point making the end a little less dramatic.  We literally dominated Dallas' offense.

It wasn't a picture perfect win but it was a win damn it!  Losing Greg and Daryl sucks but it's football.  Thomas and Robinson will step up i think.

Being happy with a win is fine. I'm happy. But I'm not going to pretend like I haven't seen this same song and dance play out before.

The issue isn't just injuries. The issue is more of the same struggles on offense in converting redzone trips into touchdowns and watching Cam Newton be the offense more often than not while our 8th overall pick fumbles the ball away with a chance to put 7 on the board.

We have plenty of talent, but that talent must elevate if we are going to get into the playoffs, because this division looks even more stout right now with the Bucs dropping 40+ points with Ryan f*cking Fitzpatrick.

We must get things on offense cleaned up. Remember our bye week is super early, and we have a hellacious stretch of games after that capped off with 3 straight divisional showdowns.

Stop clinging to the last remnants of Jerry Richadson football where just being good enough to not suck complete ass is alright while we once again watch Ron Rivera go into an ultraconservative shell at crucial points in games. Mediocrity is no longer the norm. Raise your expectations.

I’m pissed that Ron looks stoic.  Fire his ass now.

I’m concerned about the offense. But I will use a bit of perspective.  Fist game with new OC, Band aid offensive line and your pro bowl TE going down.  These things might change a bit of what you do in play calling and play style.

I also counted 12 points we left onthe field which were not due to conservative stoic play calling.  Some of that poo can be cleaned up.

4 of those 12 points were because of Cam. In the post game conference he stated it was his decision to not run a play settle for the field goal.

The fumble was the other 6-7 points, what am I missing to get to 12?

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
