I love Byrd to death but I do think it's time to consider insurance for his kick return duties. He just can't stay healthy

At the end of the day, Byrd is JAG. Just like Barner.

It could be that because the Pats were signing Jones from a practice squad they had to sign him to the 53 man roster. To do that they had to cut someone thus releasing Barner. Once Barner clears waivers they will move Jones to their practice squad and re-sign Barner to the 53 man roster. I hope that's it.

Not many people remember Brad Hoover.  Also Nick Goings and Kris Mangum.
