Good.  Punting is something you don't realize is super valuable until you have a bad one (aka Brad Nortman).

It's something you realize when you have a bad OC like Shula that causes stalled drives on offense like 80% of the time. I honestly thought he was one of our most valuable players last season with how often he had to punt...

Did not know he was also a placekicker.

Palardy attended the University of Tennessee, [1][2] During his time with the Volunteers, Palardy had roles as the placekicker and punter.

As a freshman in 2010, Palardy converted 13 of 14 extra point attempts and 5 of 7 field goal attempts. In addition, he had four punts for 157 yards for a 39.3 average.[3] As a sophomore in 2011, he converted 25 of 26 extra point attempts and 9 of 14 field goal attempts. In addition, he had 14 punts for 515 net yards for a 36.8 average.[4] As a junior in 2012, he converted 37 of 40 extra point attempts and 9 of 12 field goal attempts. In addition, he had 36 punts for 1,551 net yards for a 43.1 average.[5] On October 19, 2013, against the No. 11 South Carolina Gamecocks, Palardy hit a game-winning 19-yard field goal as time expired to give the Volunteers their first win over a ranked opponent in several years.[6] As a senior in 2013, he converted 34 of 35 extra point attempts and 14 of 17 field goal attempts.[7]

More about his story...good read.

Michael Palardy took his substitute-teaching job seriously at St. Thomas Aquinas High School a couple of years ago. He taught staples like math and chemistry and electives like theology and debate. He taught from textbooks and lessons plans.

But his best lesson to those students?

It was Palardy himself. It was his story, his persistence. It was his dedication to a dream, which will become obvious to any former student watching the Miami Dolphins game Monday night when their former substitute teacher punts for Carolina.

He’s the survivor who tried out for 28 teams before catching on. He’s the dreamer cut by the Oakland Raiders the day after an emergency appendectomy, cut by Ottawa due to Candians-to-Americans players ratio in the Canadian Football League, cut by Carolina five months before punting for them last November.

Fuccck Rivera.  He has a stoic look on the sideline and therefore has no business coaching football.

When did positive and negative facial expressions become part of Rivera’s job description?

He’s had us in the playoffs the past four out of five years. The only other coaches who can claim that are Belichek, McCarthy, Tomlin, Carroll, and Reid.

buddy, Andy Lee sucked ass his entire stint here lmao

Lee had a 49 per punt average in his one season here, but he got hurt in the middle of the year and was out for the rest of the season.  So, while he wasn't worth the 4th round pick we gave up since we only had him for a few games, he was actually very good for us when he was healthy.

This is correct and this is why so many people were upset with Rivera. Lee was crushing punts when he was healthy.

However, Rivera must have seen something the following year in training camp that caused him to go with Palardy.

I will say, it looks like Lee is having a nice bounce back year as he struggled a bit last year.

Gettleman Extended Luke like the first game of 2015 didn't he?

I think it was a few days before the first game so the season hadn't technically started. It definitely went right up against the limit though.
