Why isn't Taylor Moton playing left tackle?

I know the official party line on this question. I just don't buy it, especially after watching and rewatching that final series from last week. I gotta believe Moton anchoring the left on those plays gives us a lot better chance of scoring.

If the answer is that Chis Clark is just keeping Matt Kalil's seat warm, well...:poison:

You already know the answer. RR likes his vets.

Moton is better at RT, and he will stay there until Daryl gets back. Once Daryl comes back Moton will flip on over to LT, and Daryl will stay at RT.

Kalil is medically cleared to start practicing. Yet, he is not practicing. So it appears that the team is in no hurry to bring him back.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.

Clark is kinda scary over there at LT. So we should all be hoping that Daryl can hurry up and get his ample butt back on the field.

When some Texans fans were asked about Clark when we first signed him the consensus among them was that he is much better on the left side than the right. Also, Moton has pretty much never played on the left side spending his entire college career on the right side and I believe he has even said he is much more comfortable on the right.

So Clark is better on the left and Moton prefers the right. I think the answer should be pretty simple. It is what makes our OL the best it can be this season. Now if we were out of contention or something and wanted to groom Moton to be the eventual LT of the future then this question might be more pertinent, but for now we need to put our players in the places that make our team the best they can be right now.

Clark has been teetering on the precipice of disaster for a few weeks now but he still holds it together and Cam isn't getting sacked. Honestly I've never seen an OT getting tossed and ragdolled the way he has but still hold his block. Cam has been hit the 3rd least so far in the NFL at 19 times and the league leader is at like 17. The OL is holding up really well. It ain't broke.

Come on, Hub. You can't seriously defend keeping Clark at LT over Moton?

Moton did fantastic at LT in preseason. Meanwhile, Clark is giving up pressure on the left, including a play that went a long way toward costing us a win this past weekend.

I know you want to be optimistic but this just doesn't make any sense.

The move marks the first in-season coaching change that Rams head coach Sean McVay has made in his nine seasons in Los Angeles. Rams assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica will take over and become the lead special teams coach, a source told Schefter. The Rams, 11-4 and second place in the NFC West, lost to the Seahawks on Thursday night in a game that included a Seattle punt return for a touchdown and a missed 48-yard field goal by Los Angeles kicker Harrison Mevis. The Seahawks (12-3) overtook the Rams for first place in the division and the top overall record in the NFC thanks to the 38-37 overtime victory. Though the Rams have lost only four games this season, three have involved special teams miscues. In the Rams' first loss of the season, 33-26 to the Eagles, Los Angeles had its final two offensive possessions end with blocked kicks. In the Rams' Week 10 victory over the Saints, kicker Joshua Karty missed an extra point and a 39-yard field goal attempt. After the game, McVay said the Rams' special teams issues "can't continue like this." Los Angeles replaced long-snapper Alex Ward with Jake McQuaide and Karty with Mevis, who had not missed a kick until Thursday night in Seattle. Blackburn, 42, was in his third season as the Rams' special teams coordinator. A former linebacker for the Giants and Panthers, he also has worked as an assistant with Carolina and Tennessee.
    • It was a bad play from Icky but the OL didn't give up a sack until late in the 4th quarter and Bryce just stood there like he was canatonic. If our 3rd year number one overall pick can't overcome one single sack against a rebuilding Saints team that should only have 2 wins this season then it isn't ever going to happen   This is your quote. I mean I’ve quoted it twice. It was followed by calling people that defended him fugers and several other meltdowns I can also quote.    Shame you for working for a living??? Wow this is a whole new level to your victim mentality thing you like to do. You don’t have to watch games live. Or don’t spend an entire thread arguing about something you didn’t get the full picture of. I miss parts of games all the time. That’s just life. Not even going into the whole losing all respect thing.
    • Rams ended up firing ST coach and former Panthers coach Chase Blackburn after the loss. Sounds all too familiar.
