Torrey Smith

I need to eat some crow. Torrey Smith has really stepped up the last 2 weeks. I'm glad we have him on the team. Sorry I said you didn't deserve the 5 M and needed to be cut. You were a big part in the win yesterday and played well last week as well. Thank you!

The coaching staff finally stopped running him on the patented Shula 40 yard streak.

Cam isn’t using the deep ball this year so for all intents and purposes he was useless until the coaching staff started having him run routes underneath.

He’s been solid abs the Panthers truly do have five threats at the position when used the right way.

Those younger players will continue to improve, which is also pushing Torrey to improve.

I really don’t care who is on the field if they are making plays.

i don’t play FF, don’t have a guy I drafted and am now pissed off he’s not playing— I just want to win.

i loved seeing Samuel get a few reps here and there, he’s getting back in football shape, I loved seeing Wright on some plays, clutch, Torrey showing he can be clutch,..Moore coming on strong.

when all are showing up, Cam spreads the ball around and we win.

fantasy don’t like that,.. don’t have a receiver putting up what they want— but the team wins.

I'm not sure which crowd you are preaching to, but I don't believe the "our young talent at WR needs more reps" crowd is basing their opinion on fantasy football points.

I still think Smith logs way too many reps over Samuel and Moore.

We just need to get away from so many 2 WR sets

That is totally correct.

we do need to get 3-4 on the field, CMac can push out to 5 and then in motion back to the backfield aha Patriots a lot.

spread those biaches out

Yeah, he took an arm to the head that you could see rattled him. The guy still came back and did some solid work. Torrey's got a ton of heart.

Something else. He was acting a little cagey about his X-ray after the game. Slightly worried it’s something serious. He was in pain after the game

    • That doesn't sound like a theory rooted in the short term futures of their GM and HC. I doubt they survive to see the end of that plan.
    • The Raiders have already shown enough interest in Jeanty that anyone after 6 that wants him and would trade up for him, will already be calling the Jags for a trade anyways. The only thing them signaling interest in Jeanty could do if their interest was to trade back, would be to bluff the Raiders into making a swap with them to add draft assets while still drafting whoever they are actually targeting.
    • I love when people go after his YAC ability as if he wasn't 5th in the Big 12 this past season in YAC, because he was. And you can say his style of YAC doesn't mesh with this type of game, but that on its face is just nonsense, because if he's good enough to be 5th in a major conference, it clearly meshes well with his game. The reason you say it doesn't, is because you think all he is good at is making contested catches because of his radius, but because you haven't watched enough of his full tape, you don't realize that he's consistently used in the screen and short slant game to get the ball in his hands because he actually is a solid YAC guy because he's surprisingly agile for a player of his size.   No, he's no Tyreek, but he has more than enough wiggle to his game that you combine it with everything he does at an elite level because of his size, and it makes for a guy who is going to be a consistent 1k yard and 10+ TD player.  He can be the true outside #1 that we need, but he's also versatile enough to be moved into the slot at times to scheme the ball into his hands against smaller nickel corners or slower linebackers. He's a slightly less physical Mike Evans but with more agility, my comp was always AJ Green.  He's going to be an elite #1 WR in this league for the next decade, if he's there and we pass on him to trade down for another WR, we will regret it for a long time.
