Lamar Jackson

Lamar literally is used in a depressingly pathetic way that it's irritating. You literally know everytime he's on the field it's some cheap gimmick run play that you can pretty much send the house for.

They never let the man pass or actually be a quarterback. On the Ravens, he's used like a poor man's taysom hill instead of being an actual QB for them.

Sadly, for a talented passer that could easily bring a new deadly wrinkle through his arm, he's being used mainly as a gimmicky toy.

Every time I’ve seen them they bring him in and he runs a read option play and they do it 3-4 times per game. He has been pretty dangerous with it too but if we aren’t prepared for a few read option plays then we should just disband the team.

How is Lamar Jackson a poor mans Taysom Hill?

I mean he's pretty much used in that way. A gimmick player.

Didn't mean to imply his skillset is like Hill, because he's far superior in every facet. Yet, the Ravens use him like Hill and a poorer version at that.

I would guess they are setting up a pass play at some point though. Hope its not this weekend.

That's a shame.  But good for us I suppose.  I had good seats to the NC State-Louisville game last year.  When he gets outside the pocket it's a scary thing.  But he did miss some wide open receivers.

Yeah, ultimately I'll be surprised if Jackson makes it as an NFL QB and I honestly didn't see him as a 1st rounder. He was a GREAT college QB, but he's a really erratic passer. All the Carolina fans that bitch about Cam's accuracy would lose their minds watching Jackson play QB.

If I remember correctly he actually had a legit passing play on 3rd down against the Saints.

But that’s the only one I’ve seen. Typically they just go option read with him and it can come at any time.

Yup. Saw them do this a couple of weeks ago and felt the same way. The drafted a heisman winning QB and are shortening his career by just using him as a battering ram until Flacco decides to retire. He's one helluva of a sport because it's honestly disrespectful.

    • Cant take him seriously because he likes Bryce sounds about right for around here
    • OK, let me first say that I can't get any Twitter link to embed--using "X" or "Twitter" or whatever, and I'm tired of trying. Now, I must say that I see Panthers stuff in Facebook on occasion as I'm part of some group, but I see Panthers stuff even less on the cesspool that is now X, but as a follower of the official Panthers Twitter, stuff pops up on that feed too. I guess that I shouldn't be surprised that agents of the organization would be putting out tweets like this: He's not even trying to be objective. It stands to make sense though. In order to get better information, you have to go to national sources like Kurt Warner.  I'm not necessarily trying to pick on J-Stew, per se, but I can't take him seriously, as even some past Panthers players, like Greg Olsen for example, don't seem like they're just trying to cater to Panthers Nation, just saying hollow words to make everyone feel good.  I just wonder why here on the Carolina Huddle, there seems to be more objectivity, or at least more critical thinking and serious discussion than most other social media sources on the Panthers. It's interesting. There is a significant difference.  For all the changes and the seeming decline in popularity to whatever degree, the Carolina Huddle still has its place and plays a big part in overall Panthers fandom. We want to be happy, joyous and cheer for the Panthers, but we aren't necessarily trying to shoot sunshine up people's derrières either.
