What is David Tepper Thinking This Morning?

I would make Rivera not give me any excuses to not fire him at the end of season and get rid of Washington and let Rivera call the defensive plays. If the defense is still terrible by end of season, then its time to find another head coach because it would be no point in retaining Rivera for his "defensive genius".

One of two things

A.  What can I do to prevent this from happening again.

2. I’ll just go sign on to the huddle and cry like like I got sand in my bag.

I am calling Martty. Get your ass down here.

I can't tell you what Tapped is thinking, but I can tell you what I'm thinking. The one redeaming quality of Rivera over the years was we always seemed to field a competitive defense with him. In spite of his horrible coaching personnel decisions, game clock management and in game adjustments, the defense has always been competitive. And now in what would appear to be a make or break year under new ownership he's showing the worst defense he's ever shown. The talent is there, the adjustments are not.

    • Saw a replay of that Kucci save in the first period. That was a crazy good save and unbelievable awareness to realize that the bruins skater was coming open from the back boards
    • Across the league, many of the most productive wide receivers are doing their best work out of the slot. Rams WR Puka Nacua and Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba are perfect examples, with both putting up strong numbers this season thanks to their impact coming from the slot. Teams are clearly figuring out that placing their top playmakers inside creates major advantages against today’s defenses. I’m glad Canales has picked up on that as well and put T-Mac in position to have his best game yet. Especially against the Falcons, who arguably had one of the better pass defenses in the NFL prior to yesterday Hope to see that continue. Dave's still relatively young in the coaching world and is clearly still trying to find a good formula. Yesterday's gameplan with the YAC and impact all across the board was an encouraging sign for the future.
    • I was really happy to see XL have success and make an impact. I’ve been one of his biggest haters, but at the same time there’s very few players I want to see succeed more than XL. He’s a good dude who’s been through a lot. I hope he can keep building off this game.
