Panthers claimed RB Kenjon Barner, who's back for a third stint in Carolina. Corresponding move is waiving CB Josh Hawkins.

I like this move...somebody in the FO is watching the huddle.  :shades:

CJ was/is an average back with a big ego/mouth.  Barner is a better fit atp.

also with samuels multiple fumbles on kickoffs this year Id like to see barner back there. Get samuel more reps on offense.

Barner is a yo-yo player.  He generally gets signed somewhere for a few weeks then he's gone.

I'm not even sure he's completed a full season with one team.

I think he was with the Eagles for several years.

The Patriots signed him, dropped him...resigned him...who did they drop him for this time?

They activated a DB off injured reserve.

Speaking of which, on the other end of the spectrum, up to now Josh Hawkins has been favored enough by the coaching staff to keep Corn Elder on the bench. Wonder if that changes now.

He was there on and off. None of his game stats show a full season.  I know he ended one on IR.

Yeah I just looked at it I think you're right. It's pretty funny actually, he was signed 3 different time shy the Pats this year, has had at least 3-4 different stints with the Eagles and is now on his third stint with us technically. How many players have been signed by 3 different times 3+ times each?

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
