Would you be satisfied and consider the season a success if the Panthers made the playoffs and were one and done?

I feel like a lot of people on this forum talk about making the playoffs as if it's the Panther's Super Bowl. Perhaps as fans we try to just take it a game at a time and once the playoffs begin we believe anything can happen. But history, in general, has shown the best teams during the season, usually go the furthest in the playoffs, with few exceptions.

Would just making the WC spot and being pretty much one and done satisfy you as a fan and enable you to consider 2018 a successful season? And if not, what would?

And what do you think that means for the coaching staff?

Trying to get a feel for everyone's expectations with Ron/Cam nearing a decade here in Charlotte.

Too much football ahead. Our next 4 opponents all have losing records. Get to 10-3 would be yuge. atl, and the aints at home, with one at the aints is a good way to finish.

IMO, it is all on how we finish. Get to 11, or even, Zod forbid, 12 wins, and the sky is the limit. Go into those last 3 games at 10-3, and come out 10-6. That would not be good. lol

    First round losses suck.

If we make it into the playoffs and have a game like we did against Pitt, hell no.

I am biased as hell and I am still hoping for a new GM to push Rivera and cleanse JR's tainted approach to the organization. Like hiring outside of the house if what's left has been picked over for 2 years straight and no one is left that meets the standards of what we need to keep up in an ever evolving NFL. I love what Tepper has done so far but I still think he is pulling his punches.

We wont be 1 and done. And depending on how things stack up, we may go to the NFC Championship game but no further. If we play say the Redskins in Washington, I believe we win. Then play the Rams, I believe we can win that as well. Teams that lean heavy on the run, we play well against. Rams lean heavily on Gurley. This is advantage to us. So we have a chance of beating the Rams. Saints, if they get upset (most likely not) we lose to or if they play the vikings and vikings win we have a chance at the SB.

I believe the Steelers game was a big lack of preparation. It rained the days of practice and trying to cram a gameplan against a high powered offense is never a good mix. I dont see us playing that bad on defense again. Unless its against the Saints but even Brees hasnt carved us up like that in the years he has been playing for the Saints

I'm not content or satisfied until we get the trophy.

We've got just as good a shot as anyone right now, even if it is us and Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl.

Chicago could even get the #1 seed away from the Rams and Saints at this point, lol, so nothing is a given.

Hopefully we eat our humble pie and come out this week and the rest of the season out for blood.

I just want back to back winning seasons honestly.  Do I want us to win the Super Bowl every year?  Hell yes.  Do I think they will do it this year?  Not unless something drastic changes on defense.

But what happens IF Rivera, and Washington get this thing worked out? What if our D starts to look good? What if...

Ah hellz, it all comes down to those last 3 games. We should be in good shape going into those games. How we come out will be telling.

I agree with the not one and done. We are most likely a WC team now. If we had beaten Washington, I would still give the division a chance even with the beat down. I just don’t think we’ll win in NO and so I can’t see us making up 3 more games.

Rams and NO get byes (NO has tiebreaker for 1 seed), so either we play at Minnesota, Chicago or Washington. Those are all winnable games for us. The key thing is what happens after the first weekend assuming we don’t poo the bed. Playing at LA means maybe NFC Championship. Playing at NO means probable exit. We’d be better off hoping that the other wild card team wins and is the 6th seed.

Hoping Washington, its to cold for us to play in Chicago but Minnesota got a dome. so that wouldnt be too much a issue

    • Woods has had 600 yards in 2 years with Stroud. He's done. Collins blew up with Stroud and had a ton more everything in Stroud’s rookie year than he did in his first two years combined. Mingo sucks but his rookie season was about the same as Collins. The Texans won 10 games with rookie Stroud. They won 11 total games in the 3 years prior. They had a poo roster before the 2023 draft. The Panthers had a better team before the 2023 draft. That was my point that Stroud (and Anderson) jumped the Texans to another level. No one thought of Nico Collins as a stud before Stroud. They were one of the worst teams in the league from 2020-2022. We won 6 more games over the same time period.
    • 1 here. I don't think we are very good. Maybe we can be entertaining though. Anyway, I would rather be pleasantly surprised with a couple of wins, rather than being angry and annoyed every Sunday because the team is just flat out terrible.
    • Going all the way to something like the Dollar General Bowl.
