Pep mic'd up: "You either gonna give me my respect or I'm gonna take it."

He has changed so much since at Carolina--in a good way.  He is not as shy, more articulate, and will have eternal respect from football fans.

Not sure how I feel about the coach asking Pep questions before making a critical call.  I get that it could be motivational or that he may have wanted to see if Pep felt he can beat his man in a certain set--if the defense was playing better, it would not bother me.

Julius is currently

- Number 2 all time in fumbles forced (52. Robert Mathis is first with 54 ).

- In a three way tie for Number 2 all time, in Tackles for Loss (171. Tied with Jared Allen and Demarcus Ware. Terrell Sugs is first with 189)

- Number 4 all time in sacks (157.5 . Kevin Green is third with 160 )

Peppers could retire as the number 1 in forced fumbles, number 2 in tackles for loss, and number 3 in sacks . Should be a shoe in for the hall of fame first ballot. And the first real drafted carolina panther to get in.

If defensive players are making the calls Id feel alot better cause I honestly think Luke Kuechly would be a better D coordinator.

Smitty may get in before Pep

Peppers has unarguable top 5 stats in  three different all time categories for defensive stats.

I think Steve Smith finished in the top 10 in receiving yards all time. But I dont think he has the reknown and universal respect that Peppers does.

If you think about what Steve Smith did in the context of his stature and the teams he was on, he really should be first or second ballot but I highly doubt it.

Key word is may.  Being in the media will help him, but Smith is no shoe in.  Peppers is.

There aren't many players who I think "walk" into the hall, but Peppers is one of them.  WR position is bottlenecked.

Things like this make me happy Pepp is opening up and allowing stuff more, and even more that he came home to do it.

At the same time it also makes me sad because we are closing in on the end of his massive career.  Have to think if not this year, next will probably be it
