Official Carolina Panthers at Detroit Lions Gameday Thread!

Hey all! Reporting in for my first ever NFL game in person and couldn't be more hyped! Travelled down from Ottawa, Ontario with a couple Lions fans and our other buddy is meeting us from Tennessee! "New" to the huddle but hsve been lurking for about a year now and figured it was time to make an account.

Just started watching football about 5 years ago and fell in love with the Panthers. Didn't know a single player or really anything about the sport, but the first game I ever watched this #59 guy was just all over the field and couldn't believe how incredible this guy was. Then watching #1 on offence and the swagger he brings was just mezmerizing.

Still very much learning the sport to this day but at the very least I now know every Panthers player on the roster at any point and love them all!(ok except maybe Amini cause he really is just the worst). Anyways could not be a more proud Panthers fan no matter what and looking forward to talking to you guys. Hope ya'll can accept a Canadian into the family :)

    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
    • I think google is confusing signing bonus with guaranteed money. If you get a guarantee of say $10 million, it doesn’t matter if the signing bonus is $5 or $8 million, it’s the $10 million number that affects the cap, as the signing bonus is always just a portion of the guaranteed money anyways. And again, I’ll admit I’m not 100% sure about it, but I’m pretty sure it is the case.
