If I actually thought we were capable of doing something in the playoffs, I could get hyped up for this.

The prospect of playing one game where we get our doors blown off doesn't really excite me.

I agree. I don't see many positives to going to the playoffs, sadly. It increases the chances of retaining the staff and it moves us further back in the draft order.

I want this team for their fans and fot themselves to look like a pro team again and physically beat down and play smarter football than the Saints.

Keep it simple and hit people.

Running the football Tight man pass coverage and hitting brees at every opportunity

it is a Nationally TV game. Win it at home and don’t embarrass themselves if they can’t win it

i do not want them in the playoffs to be candid. They will simply embarrass their fans,  city and themselves

getting old the Nfl isn’t pretty  maybe they one bow up game left in them  let it be at home Monday night

I will say that is why i used 3 "IFs" and by no means they are playing up to their potential, come on you know better than that.

Depends on the player.

Poe probably is. Torrey Smith also (when he plays). Likewise Davis, Peppers and others are probably giving it all they've got, but they haven't got what they used to have. This is likely true of others also.

Are there some who are half-assing? Probably. But coaching is a major issue too.

    • So yes, him having his best game as a pro was a big part, but besides that him doing it while injured, while coming back into the game is a big difference.  Yea he has come back and played in games when injured...but he also in those cases have come back in and stunk up the joint like so many times he has in the past and THAT is what makes it different.
    • I don't think deep in the fan sense matters much, honestly. I still think he needs to be able to consistently place passes well up to 20 yards and that's what is more critical. He did that yesterday - he was basically 7/11 on passes 15-25 yards and that's good enough that it also opens up passes all over the rest of the field. In week 10 he was 1/2 in that range; week 9 2/3 with an int; week 7 he was 0/4.  Anyway we need more of that... He needs to be stressing defenses past the sticks for us to open up the rest of the offense.
    • That depends on the factors involved. Quite a few of the shorter passes that we do throw the "check down" is one of the first 1-2 reads. One could argue that could be because of Bryce but that's really almost impossible for us to know without Dave Canales essentially telling us that directly.
