Yes that boat has sailed but it still makes me angry, especially since Butker has proven to be an excellent kicker at KC. So much for the individual who told me during TC last year that Gano had completely outkicked Butker off the basis of like 4 kicks each. We shouldn’t be surprised that RR didn’t have the courage of his convictions to get behind a rookie though. 

 Gano, whose distance and kick percentage are impressive, but who costs this franchis repeatedly when the chips are down. He’s been paid again. SMH.

No one on here defending that move this season when people were calling it short sighted and not a great move last year even when Gano was decent.

Gano has come up short this year but I wouldn't say that Butker has been an excellent kicker for KC though:

1-39   Butker 14/14.  Gano 7/8   

40-49 Butker  6/7.     Gano  4/4.   

50+    Butker  1/3.     Gano  3/4

Total: Butker 21/24 (-3) Gano 14/16 (-2)

Butker - $555,000

Gano - $3,437,500

So for 1/6 of the price we would essentially get the same production.

And that money could have been used on a DE/CB/Safety/OL in free agency this past season.

My argument isn't that Butker is inherently better, it's that he offers the same production for a fraction of the cost.

Remember that time we franchised the best pass rusher for one season, it blew up in our face and 4 years later Nails is still making threads about it?

It's not getting dropped until Hurney is dropped or Gano is enshrined in the HOF at the end of his career.

My statement isn't that Bukner's financial numbers aren't more favorable than Gano's, but against your words that stated, "Butker, has proven to be an excellent kicker in KC".
