JR did a lot for Charlotte but was ultimately a pervert. I think it is crazy to have a statue of someone that sexually assaulted people.

If it makes people mad, instead of tearing i down, why not just dress it up every game day.  Toss a tutu and some sexy lipstick on him, maybe tape a bojangles sweet tea cup into his mouth.  I'd imagine desecrating the statue is more humiliating to a guy like JR who apparently had a very weak big but incredibly weak ego.

I personally don't think anyone deserves a statue. I'm not religious, but the whole "false idol" thing has some meaning.

People are...people. They are human and fallible. They deserve to have their accomplishments celebrated in history, but we all have our failings. People in power sometimes have bigger failings. 

Why can't we celebrate people with a plaque, a picture or some other marker that is not a statue? I just don't get it.
