Speculation on Steve Wilks

I'd prefer him as a DB coach, but with Richard Rodgers now manning that post it's hard to imagine Rivera moving him out of the way.

Wilks being fired could technically also free up Al Holcomb to return as linebacker coach, though I don't honestly see any benefit to dumping Steve Russ. Of all the defensive coaches, you'd have the weakest case for firing him.

Steve Keim might be the real problem there, but the Bidwill family isn't exactly in the upper echelon of NFL owners.

With Vance Joseph out, Rivera needs to be on the phone right now trying to secure his services as the defensive coordinator.

Just makes me sick to know we will have to watch this team go down in flames. Even if Wilks comes back he's not a better DC than Rivera.

They looked awful. He basically neutered David Johnson.

If we must have Ron back next year, I'd want him to keep running the defense himself. I thought he did a fantastic job at that late.

Against the Saints maybe. Defense looked terrible against the Falcons.

Hopefully part of Tepper's honest talks with Rivera is building a better staff back up...which means moving guys like Rodgers out of the way and bringing Wilks back as Secondary/Assistant HC.  Get Wilks back in his old position, hell bring Norman back when he gets cut, and let them coach up and mentor Bradberry/Jackson.
