When looking at who is the GOAT you have to take into consideration what Luke has to do as the MLB... he puts players in the right positions and he basically knows what the offense is doing. Players say that about him all the time.

Peppers is the best DE this team will probably ever have

Smitty is the best wr this team has ever had

Luke, if he can continue his level of play for a few more years will be the Panthers GOAT

Luke is the best football player this team has known and here is why--he is a leader, he is one of the best ever at his position, and he is a superior athlete.

Cam and Peppers are also superior athletes, but only Peppers (of the two)  is one of the best at his position, but he is no leader--Cam is a leader, but not one of the best ever at his position--depending on how you assess the position.  While Peppers and Luke are near locks for Canton, Cam is not so certain.

So Luke is the total package.

Well said.  Don't think Luke relies on anyone else to help him call sets/plays.

Not amount the best Panthers? Of you want to say he isn't the defensive GOAT, that's fine. Thats understandable. But there's no argument against him not at least being #2. He's not just the Panthers all-time sack leader, he's nearly 30 ahead of #2.

I’m just saying Pep isn’t up there with the top tier of all time great Panthers in Smitty, Cam, Mills, TD, Luke

Interesting you list Mills when he only played three of his twelve season in Carolina. Peppers has played 10 of his 17 seasons in Carolina. He's absolutely a top tier Panther.

It's about impact on the team. Mills was our veteran leader from the start and only player to start all our games the first 3 seasons, a huge reason for getting to the NFC Championship game so soon, and then obviously his impact as a coach and in 2003...
