This organization left Cam without a Oline and WR's for his entire career. Let him take a total ass beating. CMC is next in line to be beaten down. A player cannot survive long with that workload. Cam may never be 100% again....waste of a great talent.

CMC is a great back. Playing the majority of the offensive plays is not sustainable. This coaching staff has learned nothing. They continue to ride the horse until it collapses and do the same with the next great player. 

CMC will be just like Cam in the end....beaten down and broken due to the stupidity of the coaching staff and the organization

Or maybe McVay realized he needed to take some of the beating off his RB, so he went out and found a tremendous RB to take the load off him.

C-Mac is a young, smart and strong RB who desires to play as much as possible. Thus far, there has been absolutely nothing to prove that he can't handle his level of usage. When that day comes, it will be addressed. Moreover, an elite RB's shelf life is markedly less than that of a QB's, so things are going to be managed differently.

Rivera does not look to the future--only worried about his job at the moment. Wear and tear adds up.  To assume you can tell that his  tires are not going to wear out when he is 23 is not that smart.

He can switch to something of a slot WR as he matures, but running between the tackles as much as he does?  He has 4 or 5 years left, according to most statistics.

Wrong.  He can do more than your average running back. 97% of the offensive plays is stupid.  Now name be the best 2 teams in the playoffs. Both of those teams have 2 good running backs and they both find a way to use them.  Dam even John Fox knew that.

The problem is this wasn't a Ron decision.. I know ppl like Norv (as I do) but the CJ decision was his to make.. Not Rivera not Hurney's it was Norv who didn't use him and it was Norv who felt he didn't need him..

It’s true, no back lasts more than a few years getting 300+ carries a year,.. 

CJ was perfect at price, age and complement.

i saw CJ plant some linebackers and people blocking, blitz pickup and peremeter blocking— something a lot of running backs suck at.

it would be tough using a draft pick to replace him——-

So you are saying the Head Coach does not determine the personnel decisions of his coordinators?  Yes, they do--or should.  The fact is, you do not know who made the decision--but I know who oversees the decision.

The buck stops at the head coach.  It is his job to see the abuse of a player and cosider long and short range outcomes.

While that is the nature of the NFL long term, Rivera treated Cam horrendously. Play through injuries that should have sat him with the excuse that Cam really wanted to play and is a competitor? Hurrying Cam back from surgery to start the beginning of the year instead of missing a game or two with the strategy of making a playoff run with a healthy freak QB? Rivera sucks at strategy which is why he makes so many horrible decisions. The guy is a joke, a likable guy, but a joke of a HC. I'm not convinced he can even play checkers. Or tick-tak-toe. Or draw lines between dots. 

CMC will absolutely be next. What determines his longevity will be his resistance to such treatment.

      Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

      Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
