The Panthers have hired Everette Brown as their assistant linebackers coach, per source. Brown was drafted by the team in 2009 and spent last training camp as a coaching intern with the team.

may not be a bad idea with more 3-4 hybrid looks this upcoming year. This dude was a poor fit when we drafted him, due to him kinda being more built for said 3-4 defense.

Failed players often make good coaches.

His being hired to work with linebackers  rather than defensive line lends further credence to the idea that the Panthers will be going 3-4 or using a fair share of 3-4 sets this season.

Brown doesn't have any high-level experience as a linebacker but he would know a thing or two about being an under sized pass rusher (like say, a 3-4 OLB).
