Jason Witten "unretiring"

Just saw it on the nfln ticker and my first thought was... "oh no, they got greg."

Mine was the opposite. Nice, Greg is retiring. Love Greg, but I think he's done as an effective NFL player but I know Rivera would play him over the much younger and at this point more effective Ian Thomas as long as Olsen's foot was held together by that duct tape and bailing wire.

The "Jason Witten" effect...they mentioned this on NFL Network.  Since Witten is coming out of retirement and because Olsen has been in talks with different networks as an analyst....this may push Olsen to retire to take Witten's spot in the both. Hmmmmmm

I know he seen the writing on the wall. ESPN wanted Olsen the last time and with them courting him again this year it was clear he was on the outs.

Whats so great about Greg Olsen in the announcing booth?  Is he that amazing or something?  Why is everyone on him so hard?

He did a test run during the Vikings game that got rave reviews. He's also very insightful with his tweets about the current events of the nfl and breaking down aspects of the game

Your window as a player is so small, hes set to make good $ with the panthers this year give it one more shot I say, if the foot gives out again or he can't preform to his standards then retire.

But the Booth will always be there.

Will it though? If ESPN hires someone else that they wind up liking who is much better than Witten was, then there are no top network spots available and might not be for several years.
