Brian Burns "Panthers have shown the most interest"

I've really started coming along to him lately, especially seeing how much we're looking at a 3-4 look. Dude's got ton of talent and similar stats to Von Miller's college career at similar frame.

His play's also very encouraging. Hope we get him.

From a nice article RoaringRiot wrote

https://theriotreport.com/four-defensive-linemen-for-the-panthers-to-consider-in-the-first-round/

“I think teams are considering me both in a 3-4 and a 4-3. I talk to teams about dropping, and also about staying down in a (three-point) stance; and just playing off the edge. Pass rushers are definitely at a premium in the NFL. It’s a passing league; teams want people who are going to get after the quarterback, most definitely.”

Thing I love the most about him is his flat out versatility.

He reminds me a Lot of Mack as far as his ability to drop in coverage

He also is tall and long, but has Elite bend which is Huge for a pass rusher

I don't like how obvious we're making this. I don't worry so much about teams already ahead of us in the draft order. They have to know there's virtually no chance of him making it to their second pick anyway. I worry about teams behind us who may be willing to trade up to leapfrog us.

I did the Everette Brown thing early without much study. It was definitely wrong on my part. Still feel like a lot of his success is straight line speed. Obviously NFL tackles (You know other than ours) arent giving direct shots on the Qb. That being said Id gladly take him at 16 if Sweat n Ferrell are gone. Ill throw Gary in there as well. We will get one of them. It is possible that the perfect pick will be the last guy on the list and the Hurnia boys can tell us how great he is! Ill take any of those guys over a Lt that there is no consensus top 3. Grab a project in the 2nd or 3rd.

I’m not a big college football fan at all..but from what little tape I’ve watched, I really like this guy. Seems like he has a great motor to go with his speed...and having someone that fast gives the other offense something to have to gameplan for which will only help Mario and Short( who I expect to bounce back)...of course it’s just him saying we’re showing the most interest. That doesn’t mean mean it’s more interest than we are showing Ferrell/Sweat/etc...I’d bet we’re spending a lot of time on all of the passrushers. It’s no secret to anyone we need them.  You gotta like the Von Miller comparisons...that level talent will transform this defense back to a top ten and we will start closing out these close 4th quarter losses

I'm in the same boat as well. I've made a quick judgment on Brian Burns because of his FSU Everette Brown connection. I was actually a huge fan of Everette Brown in FSU days and thought he would succeed. Unfortunately he was asked to anchor in a 4-3 defense that was not meant for him. I've always thought that Everette may have had more success if he was picked up by a 3-4 team as a pass-rushing linebacker instead of a DE. Now we have a prospect that's more athletic and has more size than Brown and had as much a prestigious career in his college days. With our emphasis on more 3-4 packages on defense, and with Everette Brown as a mentor, I think it can work this time around.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
