Wouldn't be surprised if all the DEs fly off the board before 16 and we end up getting the best available OT.

Maybe, maybe not.

Think there is just a good of odds that OTs run off the board.

Some teams with major needs at edge rusher such as Greenbay and Detroit grabbed their guys in FA.

Burns, while ranked up their.  Some teams value him higher than others.  He isnt a great fit for a 4-3 and those teams may not look at him in the top 15 pushing him down our way.

Rumors also going around that the Bills really may go OT if Oliver is off the board and they had their whole front office out at Dillards pro day

Doubt that happens, if you look at 1-15 there will be a guy or two that falls, considering

Top DL - (Bosa, Allen, Q. Williams, E. Oliver, Sweat, Burns, Gary, Ferrell)

Top T - (Taylor, J. Williams, Dillard)

Top QB - (Murray, Haskins. Lock)

That alone is 14 players, and you'd have to imagine other positions are in that mix  for the top 15 as well like,

WR - (Metcalf, AJ Brown)

LB - (White, Bush)

DB - (Greedy Williams)

*This doesn't even include the some what ''expected'' trade up for a QB once the top two go.

We're in a pretty solid spot to draft a very good player, I don't think (Sweat & Burns are gone before 16), I also don't think if they're gone the top Tackle prospects won't still be there if that happens.

We need to bring in Hollywood and metcalf

Why?? So we can waste a 1st round pick on a depth player.. I swear I can't understand why every year the "We need a Wr or TE" group.. Feels we need a WR or TE.. We could have the most offensive weapons we have ever had Potentially and still ppl see a need?? Smh

would not be hating this at all. best available OL or pass rushers in the first couple rounds, please. First three rounds need to be pass rushers and OL and a safety thrown somewhere in the mix, but the main focus should be protecting the passer and getting to the passer.

There is really no way to even know how good DJ and Curtis are just yet.....and tall doesn't automatically equal production or even mean anything.  Our "twin towers" experiment didn't pan out too well...

Also there should be at least 1 TE going before our pick and maybe 2.  But somehow all of the players you mentioned and both TE's will be gone before we pick.  Start crying now everyone.

He's a very good player, I like him a lot. Not as much as the top edge rushers though since he's a RT, but he's really good value and wouldn't hate the pick if he fell to us. A complete animal and a mauling road grader that we could plug in at guard day and eventually take over RT in the future.

I’m not opposed to either anymore although I’m not a fan of Dillard. I don’t like the thought of taking someone at 16 who looked like poo at the Senior Bowl. There were so many OL who outplayed him. Hopefully, it’s a smokescreen and the Bills take him dropping a DL down. I just feel like the value in OL is day 2 so please let Sweat or Burns be there or even Wilkins/Gary/Oliver (pretty sure he’s gone earliest).

I haven't done a ton of research on Dillard but he dominated that Oregon game. He must have really bombed at the Senior Bowl.

Taylor was my Number 16 pick months ago when everyone here was bashing, and I took a lot of poo for it.

hes now rarely getting out of the top 10, very small chance he gets to 16.

hes still my favorite for 16 if he’s there. Sweat, Jonah, Ferrell, Burns, are my next ones not counting a wild card like Ed Oliver making it there or something. Yes I like Ferrell better than Burns.

    • Sure it does, maybe not every position and not every draft.  You have to admit the hit rate goes down the further in the draft you get.  Would you more readily find a generational talent at the #2 pick or #19 pick?  High picks are considered "busts" if they doesn't pan out, whereas guys drafted later don't have that level of scrutiny upon them.  Different expectation levels.  If Styles does indeed go #2, I already listed the rarefied air that he would be in.  Maybe he doesn't set the League on fire, but my gut feeling is he does.  Again, you don't take an off-ball LB #2 if he is just a 'really good' player.
    • To illustrate my point, I watched (and commented on the Huddle) that Rozeboom would often wait a full second (or close to it) before taking his first step.  I assume that he probably had issues with false steps, a faulty practice that can take an ILB out of the gap completely.  Watch Luke and you see a step with the snap, and rarely was it a false step.  Rozeboom may have had 100 tackles (speculating) but initial contact was 2-3 yards on the defensive side of the ball.  Luke's 100 tackles were made 1-2 yards from the LOS.  Over the course of a year, Luke was much more productive (more fumbles, fewer long gainers, more OL penalties, fewer first downs, etc) that Rozeboom, but on the stat sheet, they both had 100 tackles.  In fact, Rozeboom's inefficiency kept him on the field more (more first downs, fewer OL penalties, turnovers, and punts) so he should have MORE tackles.   I would like to see stats that break down those things.   For example again, Josh Norman was slow--4.68 or so at CB.  However, his anticipation speed was incredible.  He made as many plays as a 4.4 CB.  I had one coach (college--later became the head coach at WCU) tell me that slower players have to use their brains more to still be around.  Elite athletes can just get by on their physical superiority.  He added, "Rarely does a football player run full speed.  Most of the time, they are not, so the 40 time is misleading stat.  Smart players overcome shortcomings--when the elite athlete becomes average (slows with age, advances in level of competition) they struggle against smarter (football IQ) competition.
    • Obviously tongue in cheek hyperbole. But we do not need a first round RB to compete for a championship. We need intelligent roster building. That to me is the complete opposite of intelligent roster building because it is a prime resource at a devalued plug and play position when we have needs across the defense.
