I suspect the Panthers are desperately trying to trade up right now

The Carolina Panthers are likely trying like heck to trade up right now. If Burns was no longer on the board last night or if Hurney was able to trade back and acquire a few picks, I suspect Greg Little was a first round possibility. The fact that he is still available in round 2 and the Panthers desperately need a natural left tackle, well, it doesn't take much to realize that Hurney has likely been on the phone all day wheeling and dealing.

I'd have taken two solid linemen from this draft and wouldn't mind a trade up for a tackle, hopefully keep one of our thirds and grab a safety with that. Then whatever we have left grab the best defensive players available and maybe a late round rb.

2 guys with round 1 grades at out biggest glaring holes is a homerun

Still wish we could hold off and hope he continues to fall to 47 (remember most were saying he was behind Taylor and Ford on peoples big boards)

Then if we did that try to tradd back in the 2nd for a Safety. Adderley, Chauncey Gardner Johnson, and Thornhill.  There are some Stud safeties still falling as well.

Cody Ford is also in play. Unclear which they prefer depending on who you talk to.

Id assume if those 2 are off the board. That Risner is as well.  We met with him

Kid can play OT, OG, and Center (which is big incase there is any set back with Paradis's injury)

    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
    • She kicked ass. Obviously not the same but it’s an absolute pleasure to see this band live. What a great evening.
