I guess you want a new owner. The picks were his direction. That’s been documented. Hurney once did as Jerry instructed and now it’s Dave.

Hurney 2.0 last year had Dave doing observation and being quiet. Not this time.

rigghhht...

When you get to be a Huddler as long as some of us then you'll understand.  It's ok.  You're new.  It's emotional.  No big deal.  Hang out, make some frens.  The Huddle is a good place.

Your current trajectory is heading towards Alice.  Nobody wants Alice.  Just a heads up.

Thank you Old timer.  But reality check I've probably been here longer than you.. Thank the mods for my Post count not being bigger.. I been here since we had a separate board on the Panthers official site...

I"ve seen your kind over and over.. Disingenuous, looking for internet awards, living off a internet persona that really isn't you in real life.. I can't wait to see how fake you and the rest of your brood are if this team starts winning.. All the debbie downer crap is forgotten and you will try to act like you were behind the team all along..

Don't worry I won't forget sweetheart..

I can’t tell if OP is serious.

We did not reach. We did not trade away the future. We did not draft any projects playing different positions try to force them to play another. We did not draft ‘football players’ from small schools or that were undersized, which probably had a lot to do with JRs meddling. We didn’t draft for business aka JR. We did not draft local guys as a business, put butts in seats, who were not BPA just because of their ties to NC (Grier as by far BPA and best value).

All of these things Hurney loved to do. He’s learned though someone may have been holding him back on a leash. Regardless, we drafted talent at natural positions, prototypical physical attributes from legitimate college programs.

Seems many complaining came on when Cam was drafted (go figure) and don’t really know anything of past Hurney. I am skeptical of Hurney more than anyone but comparing his normal drafts from years ago to this one, it’s a huge difference. On paper, it was a good draft.

@RumHam go take a break from it all. Catch some rays, have a good meal, get some rest. Because man, you are talking out of your ass right now.

This was a solid draft and Hurney has done a lot to repair the damage Getteman did to this franchise. And on free safety? Something will come up. Free Safety is literally the least important player on defense. It's good to have a decent one, and an Ed Reed level one can be a franchise player, but it is nowhere near as important as CB, LB or DL. It is the deep, deep, deep, no even deeper, keep going back, guy on the team.

I actually really liked this draft. Yes, we needed safety help but football starts in the trenches and our pass rush last year was absolutely atrocious. We addressed that this draft. If you can consistently get pressure, your safety’s will look better. For those complaining about us not picking one in rounds 4-7, what are the chances you find your answer at safety in one of those rounds? We also desperately needed a backup qb, that poo is very important. If Cam goes down now, we won’t be trotting dudes like Heinecken out there anymore.

I trust the team to bring in a solid veteran safety FA to address that position now.

    • I don't see it as drafting a premium player to sit and wait if Walker gets hurt. We need a legitimate swing T. Unless you have a Sewell or Slater type tackle that is pretty much a sure thing, these guys can need some time to develop year 1 just like a QB ideally should. They all haven't played the elite 5 star talent on the edge. If we think another franchise tackle has dropped to us at 19, you have to pull the trigger. The position is just too damn hard to find. If it's just a "we need a tackle and this guy has a T on the board", yeah, move on, take one in the later rounds. But if that guy is there, let him back up and learn a year, then slide him into LT on year 2 of his rookie deal.  I don't see us being able to offer Walker a multi year contract after a prove it year, pay Moton his final almost fully guaranteed year, Hunt, Lewis a center and do a 50-60m extension for Bryce. The 3 most important positions on the field are QB, blindside tackle (usually LT), and edge rusher. Those are the premium positions that cost the most and are hardest to come by. If a starting caliber talent is there at 19 you have to pull the trigger.  I understand the need for a DT and S. I've been on the C and FS train for years. If we weren't staring at a potential Bryce extension, it'd make the decision a lot easier I think. It's just with all these huge contracts I don't see how we can hedge our bets on being able or even wanting to re-sign Walker, especially if he has a bad year. Icky and BC's injuries really hurt our long term plans.  If no blue chip talent at those 3 key positions are available at 19, by all means pass and draft another position. But I think it's pretty safe to say we don't have a guaranteed lock at any of them right now beyond Phillips, and they have to be somewhat of a priority.
    • Not completely accurate. I'm sure Roy is lobbying for him and Larry Brown has spoke put in support too. But Hansbrough has made comments pretty critical and hinting at a need for change. Joel Berry has gone a step further and said the standard has not been met. Scott Williams who was a teammate of Hubert's at Carolina has gone all the way and said it's time for a change at head coach.
    • 4.25 according to the ACC network broadcast. If only this guy was a couple years younger but he’s still a dawg.
