Yahoo.com story on Panthers Flex Friday

Recommended Posts

NFL players, as we know, spend a lot of time in weight rooms.

And the Carolina Panthers - led by Cam Newton, natch - have started a new tradition to show us just how much time that is.

‘Flex Friday’

In recent weeks, the Panthers, who have one of the best social media teams in the league, have started posting “#FlexFriday” photos of players.

Cam Newton, Greg Olsen, Torrey Smith and others are shirtless to show off their physiques.

Given that this video shows Newton as the leader, we’re wondering if he wanted these days to show everyone that even though he recently turned 30, he’s still one of the most chiseled players in the NFL.

#FlexFriday: Volume 2

Good range of motion on his right shoulder. Good strength too. That is what he is showing off. His new and improved shoulder. Hope when he throws he can have full motion instead of his limited  motion the last 2 years. That is a lot of his interceptions as he had to throw so flat and couldn't show the touch he was developing before the injury.

    • Assuming Mann is back I’d go ahead and move Green and the first rounder from PHX for a starting center. I prefer Okogie to Green anyway.
    • Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
    • I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
