Matt Paradis

Funny this was brought up. Bumped into a old friend that keeps up strength sports and gave his approval. Said hes heard nothing but great things about Paradis in the weight room. Said he attacks the weight room and hes a modern tough guy too. Said he has the perfect mentality for rehabbing injuries. I even asked about the hip injuries, "For a guy like Paradis, no worries" Hes not the type to freely give out complements.

Curious how much action he sees in training camp and the preseason. Did he take a practice rep in minicamp? I seem to remember him not even suiting up

I don't recall minicamp, but I don't think he participated. I hope he gets as many snaps with the retooled line (and QB1) as possible. the sooner they start to gel, the better we'll be.

Lotta people on this board were penciling in Larsen as the starter after Kalil--if you are one of them, you don't watch OL play.  He is a fringe backup. Since then, some have pursued a medical degree and are now diagnosing an injury they know nothing about.  Man, how great it would be to have that kind of intelligence.

I would love to see some real competition for the reserve C spot--Van Roten, Hearne, Johnson--etc.

To get a good value in free agency, you have to take a risk.  This is that risk.  Am I worried about the OL?  Not as much as last year, but we have too many loose ends now.  Hopefully, by the third preseason game, we will know.

Larsen seemed decent at pass pro, but lost in the run game.

Spiraling downward for the past three seasons in the "Not For Long" league. Not sure what else to tell you. Another losing season this year and he's out. You don't get fired because you're doing too awesome.

they can always fire him, hire somebody to fix his mess, and then bring him back to replace the guy that replaced him

it’s working out for us right?

You're acting like they've been consistent contenders. They haven't made the playoffs since that 2015 Super Bowl and only have 11 combined wins in the last two seasons. They're spiraling downward. Elway will probably be out after another 6 or 7 win season this year.

A GM's specific job description may not be to find a QB but if you don't have a legit QB in today's NFL you're not going anywhere so it might as well be.

I'm not praising Hurney 2.0.

I mean that's all by plan though.    Elway, the Bronocs, and their fans knew they were going "all in" with Manning and getting him weapons.   They won a super bowl and then the rebuild started.    This was known, and expected.   I'm not really defending him or anything just saying, when it comes to that, it was expected.

Whiffing on a 2nd round QB in Osweiler, a 1st round QB in Lynch, and a high prices FA QB in Keenum certainly wasn't part of the expectations. Everyone expects the Flacco reclamation project to fail miserably. Most assume this year's 2nd round QB Drew Lock to bust because, well he's an Elway drafted QB.

Great news for a guy the Panthers signed to be their new long-term center - AND for Cam Newton, who will want to continue to build rapport and rhythm through training camp with only the second fulltime starting center of his NFL career.

Panthers’ C Matt Paradis will be a full go to start camp. No PUP, he is said to have recovered well from off-season injuries.

That settles that. Hopefully he stays healthy and can anchor the line. If he stays healthy it will be another Hurney risk that turns out great.

    • Yeah not taking that Burns trade was infinitely stupid. We seem to be finally righting the ship but, imo, our biggest issue since Tepper bought the team has been coaches and management having a poor understanding of where our own roster is at. Starting with that idiot Rhule drinking his own kool-aid and thinking he was going to come and take the NFL by storm with Teddy freaking Bridgewater. Could have just kept Cam on the last year of his contract and gone from there but noooo that fat slob had to feel like he was the big man on campus. First round wizard Marty Hurney who, for whatever his faults, has a freaking HOF track record with first round picks, wants to trade up for Hebert but fat fug Rhule says no. Then we kept Rhule for 3 years which is absolutely unbelievable to me and every single year he treated our roster like it was just one player away trading our draft picks for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who have proven since leaving that Matt Rhule was an even bigger idiot of a coach than we thought. We finally seem to understand we are a ways off and trade CMC, but then we don’t take the actual good trade for Brian Burns who was never better than a run of the mill situational pass rusher. Then we botch the self scout of our OL (and team) after Wilks, even though they were bad before Wilks simplified the scheme, thinking they can execute whatever the hell Reich and Brown were trying to do. So we win a couple meaningless games playing dummy ball and Fitterer thinks we’re a player away again. And nobody even considers that having the slowest receiving corps imaginable with Damiere freaking Byrd, who can’t even make it to the season before being injured and cut, as your only hope for speed, coupled with the worst pass blocking OL I’ve ever seen, might lead to titanic levels of disaster. The way Canales and Morgan have been adamant about constantly bringing competition at every position has been refreshing and made a huge difference. I was kind of worried that we had fallen into our old ways leading up to the draft with all the talk of defense only and worried that they might feel the offense was set. Very glad to see they were not complacent on that. My big thing now is I’m still wondering why Evero is still here. I can’t think of a single player who has gotten better under him, and the Broncos defense got better once he left. We’ll see.
    • really good interview that gives some insight into their decision making process in making up the schedules and the issues they run into with so many people broadcasting games now. also some interesting discussion on what they have going on and where they might be heading in the international games. vikings have 2 of them, btw. we might be seeing more of that.
    • wow i absolutely LOVED watching that.   will watch again...and again...and again.
